I'm not a huge Spieth fan, but I don't like watching that happen to anybody in golf.

Is it Friday yet? Fly out to ATL then, I'll be there Sunday!

Got my tickets threw the lottery after 8 years of failure, so keep your chins up. Can't wait to experience it with my dad. Hopefully his knee's hold up, he's getting 2 cortisone shots today.

That is awesome, hope he has a great time.

Lol and just like that, play is suspended and the gates are closed again.

At least I was able to get some beer, a little Masters food, and some more pics.

Just hit me that this is first Masters without The King. Should quite a moving tribute to him come early Thursday morning.

MASTERS QUESTION OF THE DAY:

What is your favorite hole at Augusta National?

#12. So much can happen there, from Freddy staying on the bank to Speith implosion.

Damn good question

For watching/drama...I'd probably go with #16. That Sunday pin is so much fun. It's a birdie hole, but it's also easy to make bogey.

Just for aesthetics...I'd probably go #13. I love the big bunkers in the back and all the azaleas. I also love how all back in Amen Corner there are no spectators around those greens.

If I had to pick ONE, I might have to go with 15. That's the one par five that is really a big decision for a majority of the field and it's a prime location for some drama on Sunday.

Something everyone talks about that goes to Augusta is the elevation changes, and seeing the area you have to hit from to get over the pond... man, TV doesn't do it justice. It's a pretty significant downslope, you're hitting into the grain, and going long leaves you a pretty nervy shot coming back.

On the Range is on now.

This afternoon I think they're showing practice rounds on #16 (so you can see them skipping shots across the pond). Starts at 1:00.

Dustin Johnson is AVERAGING over 316 driving distance this year. That's seven yards better than the next-longest guy in the Masters field and 26 yards better than the tour average.

12...with 13 and 15 closely behind.

I like 12 because its just a stock short iron that these guys (and us) hit thousands of times...but the environment/moment/pressure turns what should be a stock short iron into a much more difficult shot.

I like 13 because of the ridiculous slope...and the 2nd shot strategy decision.

I like 15 because its a huge risk/reward 2nd shot.

Good thread, BTW.

interesting how they put some short hitters together and long hitters together rather than the mixing you tend to see.

Poor ol' Jimmy Walker is going to get real tired of hitting it 295 off the tee and being a club or 2 behind Johnson and Watson on every hole.

Nice odds! Except not crazy about Oosty. He's had some amazing moments at the masters including his double eagle and ricochet hole in one last year, but historically he hasn't finished well.

Can I say all of them????

Windy day: 12
Sunday: 16 because the pin placement and you can see 6 and 15 at the same time.
Honorable mentions: 2(a lot of eagle opportunities) and 11.

Nowhere is this more noticeable in person than on #10!! Tv does not do justice to the elevation on that course!

11 isn't too high on my list. I think it's too long. Most of the field bails out right on the approach because a long iron into the green is too risky. I'd like to see it a little shorter with some more mounding on the right. Make bailing right come with more risk.

Saw DJ and Gary woodland play a practice round together yesterday. 15 was playing downwind and they were within about 5 yards of each other (woodland edged DAj out while Koepka was about 30-40 back). I'm not sure they had more than SW in for their approach. That said, woodland proceeded to leave his short enough for it to roll back in the drink.

As far as favorite hole, I'd go with 13 as well. Need a solid tee shot to work the ball right to left with the creek lurking. Then some risk on the approach. all of the Augusta National par 5's are fun to watch.

My favorite is #13

Beautiful hole with the creek running through and the azaleas, plus as one of the other posters noted that the spectators arent around the green so you can see more of it. But mostly because of the strategy and risk/reward on the second shot depending on how well they cut the corner off the tee.

Amen Corner is the best 3 hole stretch on the planet. 3 completely different types of holes, all single handedly able to impact the outcome of the tournament. #12 is my favorite to watch on that stretch.

#15 and #16 - again, so much drama and such and amazing Par 3 to step up to after that Par 5.

#18 doesn't get the credit it deserves for being a.) so uphill b.) such a tight drive sight line c.) the drama of what may be on the last regulation hole of the masters and putting on that green.

The back 9 is just so d-mn special.
