My guess is they'll charge 25$ and give 48 hours. If they're getting 65% of the take from tickets, and tickets cost 15 a piece. That gets they 2.5 tickets worth of cash, and they don't have to pay a bunch of lawyers to draw up agreements with theatres.texagbeliever said:khaos288 said:Yup Disney releases already dictate 100% of ticket costs go back to Disney, and rewards programs can't be used on Disney films. Theaters only make money off the concessions for those movies.IrishTxAggie said:The theaters hold zero leverage IMOAGSmith said:Given the push back that Universal has seen by movie theater chains (mainly AMC) after their home release plan, do you think Disney would do the same?IrishTxAggie said:I think if the theater releases screw them too much they could look at a premium option for Disney+ to launch their new releases streaming. I'm not betting against the mouse. Could easily see earnings not be as bad as expected and the stock shoot up.
Reduced capacity? Screening? Limited open attractions, restaurants, etc.?
But how do you charge for the movie (assume 3 ppl watching 1 person or 8)? What is the amount of time a person gets to see it in?
I could see Disney running their in-home movie releases along the lines of how the UFC PPV work on ESPN+, where you have to subscribe to ESPN+ before you can purchase the PPV.gvine07 said:
They'll just put them on Disney+ and raise the subscription price
They've got a lot of people that have prepaid for three years. I think Ragoo mentioned he did that. I prepaid a yeargvine07 said:

My thought is that quite a few people have spent money on home fitness equipment during quarantine, and some will continue to do so even after things start to reopen (at a rate higher than pre-quarantine). It appears that the analysts have already shifted their earnings expectations for Q1 and Q2, as price targets have been adjusted upwards over the past several weeks. I currently hold some shares of PTON and want to get to a round lot so I can start writing covered calls. I'm wondering if I should buy now or wait until after the EA. I don't have access, or don't know how to access, many of the technical charts that are posted on these threads, so I don't know if there was any indication in prior days trading to predict this run today.PPAag06 said:

Pton is a crock longer term. Once people figure out their $8-9000 in 10 years could've been spent on something That doesn't Depreciate, no one will buy one.AGSmith said:
PTON is up about 6% today (to just shy of $36) ahead of its earnings announcement tomorrow after the close. Does anyone have any input on how to play it between now and the announcement?
