I'm interested in Dropbox only if it clears and holds $32.50. Right now 30.7 seems to be the bottom.

I sold naked puts in DBX out to July 20 last week. Strike at 32.

I'm not seeing that it hit that low. Got down to $2.02 from what I can see.

Today was a day traders or traders dream entry day. Look at the pure V bottom huge volume entry points. Reverse head and shoulders breakout to the upside is now in a squeeze mode on a ton of shares.

I see that flash down. I just placed it just below $2 since I wanted in if it hit $2 and generally you get a flash down at the major support. Splitting pennies.

Damn... Never showed on Robinhood.
I tried out Robinhood for a business associate who asked me to check it out (plus people on here were talking about it) and the lack of alerts is a non-starter. That said for free options its a no-brainer. Told him he can trade a single option as he learns. Overall the execution was solid but you need a separate system for alerts, unless you are willing to place a limit buy order and wait for the fill alert.

JD had a reversal bottom that I didn't trade (net free holding) this time because they did a good job hiding the volume. Was an extended reversal that had a longer "v".

Anyone else buy DBX on the huge volume V-bottom? My alerts went crazy and I hit my 1 button market buy without even looking at the price.
What platform are you using?

Yeah, they only have alerts for either 5% or 10% movements. I would assume as they build out the platform they will enhance that.

Also, it is beyond obvious looking across most any stock that a squeeze scenario is in play. Never over a 5 minute retraction and always above the previous one so that any short sellers are caught upward. I generally like to see this on a macro day chart after seeing it on a reversal intraday.

For me it's good because I'm cheap... Also, I don't have an abundance of cash sitting in my brokerage accounts to execute orders. Soon enough though!

I have 4 different platforms. One new one is the Tastyworks.com that I'm testing for travel. My mainstay for FOREX trading is MetaTrader. My Level 2 stock platforms are WarriorTrading and Interactive Brokers. I have Lightspeed as a backup. Basically redundant data feed sources just in case Realtick goes down.

SQUEEZE......sometimes its so easy to spot when it begins. Days like this are the exception not the rule.

OA, you might look into Tasty Trade with TD Ameritrade and then add on top of it OptionAlphas lifetime subscription. They have a back testing software that is supposed to be very good. They also have an autotrading bot/program that has the ability to plug into TD Ameritrade's Tasty Trade platform. So you set up trades in Option Alpha and it executes them in your tasty trade account. Their bot is supposed to automatically execute trades based on the parameters you set in, presumably based on your backtesting.

Didn't Tasty Trade split from TD Ameritrade and turn into TastyWorks which is a separate brokerage entirely?

I may be misunderstanding what you're saying though.

the platform they sold ameritrade was Dough

with that money they then started their brokerage firm and launched the new platform tastyworks(they are similar but not the same)

No, they sold to TD. Then the non-compete expired so they relaunched as tastyworks.

I just didn't realize you could still use your TD account with those. When I jumped back in after a few years off, everything seemed to funnel me to a new tastyworks account. I know aTD still had TOS (also a Sosnoff creation) but didn't know any of the old stuff existed. I know that tastyworks online is basically dough these days.

This thread frightens and confuses me. So which platform are you recommending to check out? The Tastywork one or the one that was sold to Ameritrade?

sorry I mixed things up a bit. Think or Swim is the TD platform. It was originally called Dough and developed by the same people who own/developed TastyWorks. I am recommending you check out OptionAlpha who has a back testing and auto trading platform that will link up to TD's Think or Swim platform and execute option trades/strategies automatically. It is a hefty onetime lifetime membership and I have not paid it. Kirk Du Plessis has a podcast I listen to regularly.

yes, only Ameritrade right now I believe, maybe interactive brokers too, not tastyworks as their API is not yet public domain.

Why do some stocks that have a upward pattern not participate at the open of a big gain market? Patience - many sellers see a stock go negative or stay flat and it shakes them out. Trade the trend.
