Now I'm really kicking myself for not doing more. Apparently they announced their revenues for the past 7 months surpassed all revenues for their 2019 fiscal year. Chart looked great and then you add that news on there. I should've done more research before buying only 500 shares.

PTON is up about 6% today (to just shy of $36) ahead of its earnings announcement tomorrow after the close. Does anyone have any input on how to play it between now and the announcement?
Pton is a crock longer term. Once people figure out their $8-9000 in 10 years could've been spent on something That doesn't Depreciate, no one will buy one.
Yeah as a cyclist and a Zwift user I'm not a fan either (of an overpriced stand alone unit with an ipad glued to it).

Look up the implied volatility on it, currently mid 90's (that's high). This means there's a good chance MM's drop it downward and hold it there through Friday (options expire).

Sell all and buy the dip after earnings if you want to play it again. You might get lucky and get an initial rip upward right at the start of the earnings call (to sell into). It will probably be very short lived though.

i now have both. Zwift for me, PTON for my wife.

Careful with the iPad comment. Idk what you are running Zwift on but if it is an iPad you are no "better" off than the pton bike. People like simplicity and pton is a one stop shop connect to WiFi and go application. The interaction and classes add to the appeal.
I should've chose my words more carefully PTON is great for some.

Oh the zwift setup here is legit (no ipads) - self built gaming PC that rocks graphics on a hi def tv (in the garage), 2 trainers and can run zwift simultaneously I usually race a couple times a week, people from around the world, it's a blast! My wife zwifts as well, but I can certainly understand the appeal of other's spouses to go the PTON route.

My wife actually just earned the Tron bike - climbed 50,000 meters, or 164,000 feet! She's now developed the "I'm too good to zwift/ ride indoors" so she's been riding outside a lot lately. Quite proud of her!

Does this decline by DIS leading up to their earnings make anyone else think it's going to go up after hours? Got my $100p lottos and starting to think it's going to head the other way.

I think that's the point being made though. Ipads aren't hard to use, and you still get the ipad.

Tons of people already have a bike and ipad that can do something similar. Hard to see thousands of dollars of value in the difference.
tons of people don't have those things at all or PTON wouldnt sell a single bike.

I have a road bike, a smart trainer, a laptop running Zwift and combined costs as much as a PTON bike and I pay a sub for Zwift.

I have this set up because I take my bike off the trainer for races.

Most people getting a PTON aren't racing they are using it for the interactive at home spin workout.

It serves its purpose and don't think it will be a fad.
I will say no matter the platform, an aerobic workout is a great thing. I lifted weights for years, but I was never in the shape I'm in now.

What do you race? tri's, crits? I don't race in the summer, too dang hot, but would like to do another fondo when things calm down from Covid. Would like to do another gravel race as well.

I cashed out my puts for this very reason. Could probably stay in for larger return but I have no idea which way it's going to go AH.

I need help.

I have a long position in Disney. I'd like to be protected from a drop (I don't think it's going to drop, but I want to be safe).

Am I better off holding my position and buying a put to cover myself, OR am I better off selling my position, buying a slightly OTM call to protect from an increase, and then by back what I want tomorrow? (On a drop, I can buy more for cheaper while the call is the sacrifice, if it moves up, the call becomes a buffer to help me reclaim my position.)

If you're really long on DIS, I wouldn't worry about it. Just hold it and forget about it for the next 3-5 years (or however long you want to really hold it) and then evaluate at that point. Trying to guess and get a slightly better return each earnings will be more difficult and likely not worth it in the end. You'd win some and lose some over the long period.

I wouldn't normally, but I JUST created this position in the last few weeks and am literally almost at the point I entered. I feel like this one instance it may make sense?

So just following along - it's dropped and hovering at about the same price point.

What do you watch for to see if it shoots up or down from here?

I assume at some point it will build some momentum again off of this same price point.

EDIT
OK I think I just saw it, and now we are on a down slide picking a new low for now.
I sold at 3.90 to go net free, then sold the rest at 3.50. Couldn't stand watching it melt so fast. Thanks for posting about this!!!

I'm in the same position as you. Bought in a few weeks ago with A small position, and currently only up about $1/share from the price I bought in. Wish I would have sold out when it hit $115 last week, but was afraid to miss out. At this point I'm just letting it ride. If the stock falls below $100 I'll be buying more shares. Depending how far it falls will decide how many shares I buy.
