I guarantee this has been going on for at least a year.

Before that it was HD video and programs written to look variances. Thats been for several years. I bet going back 8-10 years. It's an obvious application of industrial high speed manufacturing. Simple stuff. Like identifying a bad small bit of junk in food manufacturing on a conveyor and having the video program identify it and using air to blow it out of the line. All at high speed.

AI is an ideal tool to spot this on an opposing team and to look for opportunity.

It can also be used in the same way to look at our pitchers for any patterns that could be exploited

No surprise this is happening. Hospitals have been using AI for years to spot things that the human eye can't and predict early onset diabetes, Alzheimers, and other diseases by analyzing individual pixels in an X-ray that the human eye can't.

I would also say that this is some of the original analytics.

How often someone throws a specific pitch
What do they throw when the count is X-Y
If the batter is ahead it behind, what should I throw, based upon their habits
Etc

The problem was that you had to develop this before. Now it's free.

I've been using Claude for months now and absolutely love it. What do you typically use it for?

I've been using it to help gussy up my slide decks for school (I teach HS), create fun HTML webpages for students to use (I teach programming and Comp Sci), and Claude has been AMAZING at helping me stay organized.

I loaded in both of the syllabi for my Masters Classes at UVA and told Claude to make me a Google Calendar file with the due dates for every reading, assignment, etc. and to give me a 1 day and 1 hour notification for all.

That alone has saved my ass this semester

Would have loved to for B Mont to have advanced but really happy to see Jose Ramirez advance with the Guards. He has been one of the most under appreciated stars of MLB and I respected his decision to resign at Cleveland on a team friendly deal vs most guys who want to max out at all costs. Agreed. As a standalone move, no. If it is part of trading Walker, Pena, Brown, and Paredes for younger talent with multiple years of control and high end prospects, then yes.

Flip him. There won't be baseball in 2027 anyway. He's basically one year in 28.

I'm all in on making moves to benefit 28 as I don't think 27 will be anything.

While Hader is an elite closer, it is not impossible to find a good one for cheaper. Bryan Baker made something like $1.2 million this year, Cade Smith made less than $1 million. Injury is always a concern. How do you project the team in the next 2 years. Will we be in a position to need 30 or 40 saves?

It obviously depends on the return, but I'd be willing to trade him for pieces that made sense.
