How in the world could anyone be upset right now?
Well true, but I did say "relatively". Sborz only allowed one hit, walked nobody and struck out 4. That's a welcome change from earlier in the year!joshpettett said:WestTexasAg said:
What if I told you dudes a month ago that not only are we going to win the World Series, but the bullpen would be a big part of us winning it and Josh Sborz would cruise through a relatively stress free final 7 outs to save it?
Relatively stress free? Compared to what, hostage negotiations?
We had a 1-0 lead for 4 of those 7 outs, and a guy on base the final out of both the 7th and 8th innings.

Was looking back through the start of the thread and saw this, I completely forgot about Josh Smith getting nailed in the face with a pitch.aggietony2010 said:
Ouch.Josh Smith was hit in the head with an 89MPH sinker. Medical staff came out and he walked off the field under his own power. Scary stuff for Smith and the Texas Rangers. pic.twitter.com/XEBhN3chL9

Don't know when I first posted on the season thread, but I like this one from July 18th.94chem said:toucan82 said:
FanGraphs has the Rangers 6 games worse than expected by BaseRuns
whatever that means
Pythagorean win percentage had them at 116 at the beginning of June. They've cooled off considerably, but even using the modified exponent of 1.81, they are still expected to win 105 games. They are actually on pace to win 96, meaning they are underachieving by 9 wins for the season, which is about 5 wins at present. It's the 800 lb gorilla that nobody is talking about. Run differential. You can't get around it. The Rangers are good, and are significantly underachieving. I politely mentioned this on the Astros thread about 6 weeks ago. My post was deleted. I had no idea why. The Houston thread doesn't even have a staff warning. But then when my posts over here got deleted, I guess I understood. You can't say anything negative about Houston anywhere. So, I'll keep it positive. Houston's biggest problem is that Texas is good.
My first post was about LeClerc's inability to throw a strike in early May...but I like this one from May 7th.94chem said:beagle2009 said:
Agreed. This team feels resilient. Definitely need to address the bullpen but these mofos have some fight in them.
They win 78 last season with a .500 record in one run and extra innings games. That's a 10 game improvement. They were 18-37.
This was a .500 club that added starting pitching. O/U should have been about 88.5. Much like 2010, not my fault if nobody was paying attention.

Parade (Arlington) Police saying there is a person, possibly intoxicated, on top of a sign 25-30' in the air near the 1200 block of Nolan Ryan Parkway. Requested a ladder from the fire department to take him into custody, but sounds like he is down now.

my favorite part is how they started the newscast like 4 hours ago completely unnecessarily. that first few hours had to have been some of the worst tv in DFW history. oh well, still worth itRoll the Bones said:
You can tell we have not thrown a lot of victory parades here. Seems very disorganized.
