He's been the biggest disappointment this season and it isn't close
IMO it was a lot to ask JP to reprise his rookie year especially his postseason. Overall this season has been solid, continued excellence in the field, improvement in BB/K ratio however the power has disappeared as well any big clutch hits.
My biggest overall disappointments:
Hunter Brown - Probably expected too much of him for his first full season but expected his season to be more like what France gave us..
Jose Abreu - Has redeemed himself the last month of the regular season and this postseason, but most of this season he was 2022 Yuli without the glove. Still if the postseason production continues he was worth every penny of his contract.
Framber Valdez - Post ASB, too many Mr Hyde moments.
Rafael Montero - Much better the second half of the season, probably would not have mentioned him except for the contract given
Michael Brantley - Not that Uncle Mike hasn't been his usual self since he finally got on the field, just took him too long to recover from his injury/surgery. Not accusing him in anyway in of not being diligent in his rehab, just wish it did not take so long.
Not enough Yainer Diaz - Should have at the very least split half the innings behind the plate with Maldy.
