How does game 2 only go on Altuve's K...we had bases loaded with no outs. 3 people got out without moving a runner over, that isnt just on himtjack16 said:
So far this series can come down to 2 plays per game
Game 1: Bregman's almost HR turned double play, or Maldy striking out with bases loaded
Game 2: bases loaded no outs K by Altuve, or Framber's throwing error.
Reminds me of last year's ALCS except this time we are on the Yankees side of it. (Judge almost homerun, their botched double play that led to us taking the lead late in game 4)
My mindset is the same. Get it back to Houston, even though we have not been great here. You could argue we were a swing away from winning both. Treat Arlington like a 3 game series that you need to win.tjack16 said:
Just win the next two. That's all I ask. Then it's a 2/3 series

I have a random theory.
I was at the game last night and they would show multiple feeds on the stadium TVs. On the stadium feed many of our players looked bad. I'm talking sweating profusely and completely flushed red faces. On the TV feeds the colors were adjusted quite a bit differently. It was obvious enough that people were talking about it.
I wonder if it isn't just Alverez that is sick, but a large portion of the team.
You do realize he was the last of those 3 outs, correct?Lonestar_Ag09 said:
Your response has nothing to do with the discussion. He specifically said it was on 2 plays. Altuves K or Framber's error. And I said we made 3 outs
I agree he's playing horrible but that inning goes on all 3 that made the outs and generally to a manager that has mismanaged the catcher position but then plops a rookie into the biggest situation of his life

Good. I like making history.
Yeah, using Dubon would have been a much better option. The only reason Dusty likely held him back is because we only have 4 outfielders on the roster, and maybe he was saving him for a defensive replacement later for Brantley.CoachAg19 said:
Diaz was not the right guy AT ALL to PH in that situation. We needed contact in that scenario, therefore IMO that should've been Dubon. At the end of the day, they're all professionals and bases loaded with no outs you expect ANY of them to at least drive in one run. But I was shocked to see Diaz in that spot and not Dubon.

I get where you're coming from, but if that was the reason he went with Diaz over Dubon, then that's STILL a wrong decision. You absolutely take the risk of losing your defensive replacement in that situation. Brantley is plenty serviceable in the outfield to hold his own.OKCAg2002 said:Yeah, using Dubon would have been a much better option. Yesterday exposed the holes on this team. When Abreu got to second in the 8th, most managers would have used a pinch runner there. But...you really don't want to do that because then you have Singleton playing 1B later in the game. Woof.
