I miss Ron Washington. That 2011 team was so much fun.
Baseball has never been more fun in Arlington than when Ron was running the show.

Oh come on....what was more fun than the '77 Rangers, who went through 4 managers in one season (Frank Lucchesi, Eddie Stanky, Connie Ryan and Billy Hunter), and still finished 2nd with a 94-68 record.

seems like November's "eh, this is no big deal" is trending toward a bit bigger deal

Do they really just want to piss people off? I'm not sure how much goodwill they have left after all the back and forth BS negotiating the COVID season.

Fans spent quite a bit of time away from the ballparks the last couple years.

For us Rangers fans... no TV last season isn't going to drive future fan interest.

I still cant quite figure out what the hold up is?? MLB is now paying for minor league housing, there will be universal DH. I read players want a $700,000 minimum MLB salary DAMN!

All that really happens in the end is the fans pay more.

With Inflation being what it has been... $700K may not be enough.

There is a quote from a NBA player a few years back, I forget who, but something along the lines of "yeah, we make a lot of money... but we spend a lot of money too". Somehow that was supposed to justify their inflated salaries, I think anyway.

Whatever they end up agreeing to, I hope it includes to take away any incentive for teams to keep younger players in the minors when they are ready to be in the MLB. No more of this managing a players service time to get another year of service before they become a free agent. They need to find a way to fix that.

Guess we're gonna have to hold on to IKF for a bit.

I'm going to quit buying tickets before the season. Bought tickets for games in 2020 and boom! No attendance. Bought tickets before this season and Boom! Labor strife. Looking like delayed season and cancelled games.

While this really sucks, and I think Jung will be a good one, I doubt he was the biggest key to the 2022 season.

I think Jung has the potential to be great. I'm not very high on him staying healthy after the previous two years.

I'm sure he is referring to Jung's 2022. Obviously some guy without an MLB AB is not the biggest key to the Ranger's season

Yep. Maybe it's just two freak injuries, but he's in danger of becoming an "it's always something" guy

Bummed out by the seemingly inevitable delay of regular season due to the owner's self-imposed deadline, so I figured I'd take a poll of the group:

If you were Chris Young and Woody, what do you do with Foscue and Josh Smith specifically up the middle given the FA acquisitions of Semien and Seager?

Use them as trade pieces this year? Keep for depth?

It's gonna be time for a new CBA before the league recovers from this if they keep going much longer.

If there is no season at all, do we get another #3 pick in the '23 MLB draft?

I don't think a deal will be reached anytime soon. The owners finally came off their numbers and, I thought, made a great proposal for the players.

The players are a bunch of meat heads though and wouldn't know a good deal if it bit them in the ass. I think their whole goal is to make the owners look bad and win the PR battle. This is the first real CBA negotiation with Twiiter and other social media. The players have a big mouthpiece and the backing of most in the media. I think that is about to turn and you'll see most people on the owner's side if a deal isn't reached today.

People have complained about the owners canceling games and saying they can't be rescheduled. Only to backtrack on that when progress is made. I see that as a smart negotiating tactic. Take something away then give it back as a concession. The big money players are running the negotiations with no regard for the guys that aren't making anything right now.

Ultimately, the fans always pay. When the negotiations are over, the fans will pay with higher prices at the ticket booth, parking lots, concession stands, and souvenir stands.
