IKF is a MLB ready shortstop. That's a big piece for teams that need a SS.

Trying to compete with the Astros when they had Altuve and still paying Bregman/Correa/Tucker before their first major FA contract was futile. When you tank and produce a core that is that good and that cheap, then that's a window as an opponent you try to avoid.

With Correa leaving, Astros window certainly isn't shut -- but they are no longer a guaranteed 95 win type team.

Our moves probably pissed the Mariners off the most... Here they are looking like they are set to pounce on a similar window and suddenly we're no longer division doormats.

So let's get some pitching involved and this season all the sudden looks like a lot of fun

We opened a new stadium. 2020 was a loss, 2021 was a rebuild. Could you imagine going into the 2022 season trying to get STH and money committed from fans without a season. Add the fact Bally's didn't put games on TV, last year.

Most teams going into a potential work-stoppage for the CBA have an established STH group.

I expected the Rangers to hold off, but I think it became apparent some players wanted to be under contract. Players who were FAs going into 2020 kinda got screwed, as were many in 2021, because of Covid.

So, I suspect the Rangers saw an opportunity to mutually (FA players and team) invest in winning.

NOW... we go into the CBA contracts with all kinds of buzz... the off-season topic.

Brilliant move, IMO and I didn't expect it.

I think many on here were calling for something similar to happen with uncertainty for 2021.

There is an impetus for FAs to go ahead and sign - better the devil you know vs. the one you don't.

If Sam Huff is ready, we got us a major league line up now. Starting pitching is still unknown, but there are some good young pieces for sure.

CJ mentioned on MLB Radionthis afternoon that he would be up no later than mid season. That was his opinion but I'm sure he knows things.

He was awesome at AA and AAA, albeit a shortened year due to the foot. I think he has a great chance at day 1 pending IKF. If IKF is here, I could see working Jung at 1st or DH

Let's not forget... Semien and Seager not only bring in a ton of talent, they will make those around them better.

The team went flat and uninspired as the season went along. So many on here were talking about how fun the team was to watch in April/May... only to see a very apathetic finish.

You now have higher OBP which means hitters will get better chances.

I'd expect Jung isn't up until after the service deadline

Don't think we know for sure yet. With the ability to move around the infield it makes it easier. But I could see him being a piece in a trade for pitching. Hope not because I like how he plays and handles himself

Sounds like the Yankees have called in on a possible trade for IKF.
