What kind of position does this put us in for competing next year?

How long are we thinking it will take Leiter to get to the bigs?

Probably takes us out of the running for a Top draft pick.

Barring any additional moves, we should be greatly improved, but I think still a year or so away.

Leiter is probably a late season call-up in a best case scenario. '23 or '24 at the latest.

But hell, at the rate they're signing people who knows...

I'll have to look at that final number... Sec 122 is looking pretty nice...

They'd look really nice as a "Stocking Stuffer."

Probably won't win the division next year, but we will be significantly better

Cole Winn is the first that'll come up with "Ace" potential. Hopefully next season.

Need progression from a few of Howard, Hearn, Allard, King.

I still don't think we're in position to contend next season with what the rotation will be even if we add another veteran and what the bullpen is.

However, both Seager and Semien should have multiple years of productivity ahead of them. If some of our prospects can actually take the next steps in their development we could have a solid core looking forward. Fingers freaking crossed

yeah, we can't expect all of those to come though in 2022. But we know the bats will be better now, and if we can get improved starting pitching we should at least be .500, maybe better if things fall into place.

Still need to sign another mlb caliber innings eater or two. We don't really have a #1, unless we push one of the younger guys into that role. Or push J. Gray there even though he's not a legit #1 type.

Just nice to see mgmt spending some money to improve the team.

Here is potentially what we look like Offensive/Defensively:

Semien (31-2B-RB): .265, 45 HR, 15 SB, .334 OBP, in 162 G
Seager (27-SS-LB): .306, 16 HR, .394 OBP, in 95 G
IKF (26-3B-RB): .271, 8 HR, 20 SB, in 158 G
Lowe (26-1B-LB): .264, 18 HR, .357 OBP, in 157 G
Adolis Garcia (28-CF-RB): .243, 31 HR, 16 SB, in 149 G
KCalhoun (34-RF-LB): .235, 5 HR, in 51 G. 20 HR guy if healthy
LF
DH

That 2 spots leaves guys like:
Solak
W Calhoun
Ibanez
Taveras
Heim

And then:
Sherten Apostel
Sam Huff

That's a pretty exciting lineup.

I could see IKF being part of a trade package to bring in a pitcher. He's sort of a player without a position now. 3B will be Jung IMO. Even if he's not quite ready, Ibanez can fill in until he is.
I wouldn't be surprised if Calhoun is gone as well. It'll be interesting to watch it all unfold. Hopefully there won't be an extended labor stoppage.

As I mentioned earlier, we have a lot of good young arms. Starting pitching is typically way over priced in the FA market. I say we take on a couple of reclamation projects, maybe sign one guy to a 2-3 year deal and see what happens

His name was discussed on the ticket today…would be intriguing and the A's look ready to part with him.

Talk about a loaded infield. It's fun to dream. With all the infield talent in the farm system and the blockers now in their way, it's conceivable.

We need another affordable veteran innings eater to pair with the plate of young guys we have competing for spots in the rotation imo.

If we could package someone like IKF or Calhoun with some lesser prospects I guess I'd be okay with it. I just don't think we're in the position to make a sort of trade to "go for it." Not even close to that position, really
