The A's swept the Red Sox in the ALCS in 4 games like they were the junior varsity of your high school. Lok at the A's pitching. Bob Welch was 27-6. Eckersley had 48 saves and a ERA of 0.61. Their lineup was infinitely better than Cincy's. The Reds were a decent team, but every advantage swung Oakland's way on paper.
The Nats have 2 dominant pitchers just like we do and are on an unprecedented hot streak. This doesn't feel like an upset at all, it feels like the hotter team playing lights out baseball.
Just comes down to who is hot, win game 3 and watch the bats come alive. No, the situation is less than optimal, but our chances of winning the WS are infinitely better than 28 other teams.

Bullpen. Cole & JV are shot this year. They need all the rest they can get on those arms. A short rest start would be the death blow.

It was a huge one for sure. That dodgers team should have won that series for sure. Dont follow the NL anymore but has to be one of the bigger ones
