I enjoy the fact that Yordon took over the hugs after homers after Kemp left.

Really gotta give credit to Kyle Tucker for kick starting that rally. The mainstream media will focus on the Springer home run, but Tucker coming up big and getting on base to set it up is the real story. That's the guy you want at the plate in high leverage.

Staumont wanted no piece of Yordan.

Yordan with the double and 3 BB has his OPS up to 1.077. They need to update the graphic they keep showing as his lead is now even bigger.

They show it basically every game he plays in so I'm sure tomorrow's will be updated

Would've been the first leadoff hitter with 100rbis in like 20 years right?

And that's missing 35 games

Cole finishes tonight at 292 Ks. Two or three more starts remaining.

8 Ks from 300.
21 Ks to tie team record of 313 Ks (JR Richard)
And Cole will have done it in way fewer innings pitched. JRR was at 292.1 IP that year.

Only if the Astros will give him the biggest contract in MLB history.

That is not very consistent of their bullpen.

Magic Number is 7

Never take the playoffs for granted. 28 teams won't be playing October baseball.

Take away George's injured time and extrapolate his current numbers to a 154-game season (8 days off) and you get a Springer who racks up:

613 AB, 122 R, 182 H, 48 HR, 123 RBI, 362 TB

By a similar standard, 154 games of Jose Altuve's pace would be:

620 AB, 117 R, 189 H, 34 2B, 38 HR, 91 RBI

Also, I'm officially in love with the Astros' slugging %s:
Brantley: .519
Gurriel: .541
Bregman: .572
Altuve: .558
Springer: .590
Alvarez: .662

Round Rock lost tonight. I think that is the end of the playoffs for them so no more rehab games for Correa if that is true.

Correa had 4 plate appearances tonight.... 1 for 2 with a single and 2 walks.

The bipolar offense and bullpen will make or break us in the playoffs

The Yankees are just to consistent of a team even if they aren't as good. They're going to be tough

How many Yankees games have you seen? How do you decide what is consistent and what isn't?

Their starting rotation is very mediocre yet they are finding ways to win.

Astros seem to win big sometimes, which results in a high run differential....but we have a lot of low scoring games, much more so than our run differential would generally suggest.

Yanks have the best record in baseball right now and aren't slowing up

Like I said, gonna be tough.

I just glanced over the games since 8/16 because I'm too lazy to look deeper, but the yankees have scored 3 or less 7 times in that stretch, and the Astros 8 times. They've both scored 4 exactly 4 times.

They seem just as prone to "off" nights as we are. The difference is, when we are on, we are capable of going super nova.

That is not very consistent of their bullpen.

Had certainly thought about making a joke about that, just was too lazy to look back at who made it. It's amazing what looks consistent when you don't watch every game. I guess he was right though, the Yankees consistency has led to a 97-52 record and the Astros inconsistency has led to a 96-53 record, pretty disappointing.

and the Angels have shut down Justin Upton for the season. That's the second veteran. We'll see who's next.

Upton only played in 63 games this year while making a cool $18 MM.

he's on the books for $21 MM next year and under contract thru the 2022 season.

that's how LAAA rolls
