The Odor stuff sounds good, but I'll believe it when I see it. He took such a step back last season it's hard to imagine him being patient and selective at the plate.

I think a huge part of Odor's problem last year was that he played very well in the WBC then hit several home runs in the first few games of the regular season. After that, he decided he was going to swing for the fences every chance he got.

I'm not looking it up, but I seem to recall that the last week or two of the season last year Odor starting getting a little more selective and *gasp* actually taking a walk or two. So maybe that was the beginning stages of what we are seeing now. Most of last season was a joke with the garbage he was swinging at.

Throw it at his eyes or his shoelaces and he'd cut right through it and miss. It was so incredibly predictable. Kinda shocking how bad it got honestly. Most of the season he was a sure fire out.

You guys are gonna feel really silly when Daniels announces Cole Hamels, Doug Fister, Matt Moore, Mike Minor and then pulls the sheet off of the Delorean.

He may not but the Rangers weren't the only team after him either. He showed enough to get these teams interested. Seems like a low probability of panning out but you never know.

Looks like Lincecum may be a RP... possibly Closer.

JD has done ALL-IN on this experiment.

We likely go with a 6 man rotation, and one thing I heard was that some of the SPs may end up pitching out of the BP on off days. Similar to how the Playoffs are done.

This plays into that, where he has Mike Minor with experience in both rotation and BP. You have signed Lincecum to the BP, realizing he could plug in to start, could pitch in long-relief, but just wants to be on a Major League contract. Then, you have a bunch of other guys whom you just circulate around.

Hamels appears to have broken down/tired last year, so not sure his frame of mind.

JD could complete break Boras and the 6yr contract for SPs. Sign 12 retreads on $1M/1yr contracts and shuffle them through knowing the breakdown from TJ surgeries can be mitigated by not having to rely so heavily on one player.

As a Giants fan I have to say using him out of the bullpen is a good move, Giants moved him to the bullpen in 2013 and he was fairly effective. If he is half as good as he used to be then you will have an effective Long reliever/ spot starter.

DVD = Diamond/Volquez/Danks. And JD is on it! He has Volquez under contract, but is sitting out the year recovering from Tommy John surgery. Danks is retired, had a decent career mostly with the White Sox (I'm sure JD has been texting him about a comeback). Diamond never did much, was up in the bigs briefly but disappeared years ago.

Yeah that's what I meant about another look at him. I actually thought he would do something back then. I was more making a reference to washed up Cy Young winners, not a serious thought.
