I also think the only thing that matters is result, and since it was no where close to the pitcher, he shouldn't get his suspension to be impacted by the helmet at allll

I hope you're being facetious. His body is positioned to throw it directly at the pitcher. His arm goes straight for the pitcher and his cleat is pointing at the pitcher. It clearly slipped out of his hand as he was throwing it.

If Harper wanted to nail him with the helmet he would have. He wouldn't have hurled it when he was halfway there and it would've been somewhere actually at him.

As pointed out above it's hard to punish a guy for throwing a helmet at a pitcher when in reality it wasn't even in the same direction.

I agree in terms of playing time, but they don't get those game checks either right?

I would imagine Harper gets paid more in 4 games than Strickland does in 6.

Strickland will miss about 2 innings of work. As far as the teams go, we (Washington) definitely are more heavily impacted by missing Harper for 4 games.

I'm sure that'll be part of Harper's appeal.

There's not and surely won't be a statement from Harper saying what he meant to hit or not hit with the helmet. I'd love to be in the room for the appeal

The follow through suggests he meant to hit Strickland but I'm not sure if the helmet just didn't come off in an uncontrollable rage and was just chunked wherever in that general forward direction and it just slipped out early as he made a beeline for Strickland's jaw.

Seeing tweets that Harper's suspension was reduced to 3 games. I'd say that is right on the money.
