I appreciate the Spurs getting something out of the deal. But its not terrible for the Bulls either. DD is so hated by the analytics crowd. Im starting to think he's underrated.

It’s a great fit for Landale in San Antonio. They play the kind of basketball he can be successful in (lots of movement, hand offs with bigs, occasional post-ups). Plus, he’s a good complement to Poeltl’s defense-first game. Landale is 100% a plus offensive big by NBA standard

We are really trying to really distance ourselves from the mid range. In the most extreme of ways.

I honestly think we just did it to get another veteran who knows the Spurs culture.

White is injured a lot and Forbes is a solid player next to Murray when Murray is running point. If Keldon can improve his shot, Poetl/Doug/Keldon/Murray/Forbes is a pretty decent lineup. Then have Jock/Young/Vassell/Lonnie/White to run second team.

Really need Vassell, White, Lonnie, Keldon to improve their 3-point shooting this year.

Couldn't offer the 5th year without a S&T.

The max we could have offered him was a deal starting at 28mm with smaller raises than ATL could have offered. I think it would have been worth it, but we got Thad Young, Amineu and a first round pick in a decade, so pretty much the same thing.

The issue isn't his skill set. He fills a role as a knock down shooter and nothing else. The issue is that I don't want him taking away minutes from our other young guards.

That is fair. He can't be bad for the locker room though. Undrafted, made the team from a summer league stint followed by a training camp invite. Now has a ring. He's a high character success story.

He will be starting in no time with the old man still at the helm.
