I'm fairly surprised if I'm honest. Not because DD isn't a player worthy of star money, he is. His playmaking has really improved and he's a good scorer. I just wasn't convinced there would be a market for him to justify the money he is probably honestly worth.

So Dejounte is the most tenured Spur now, and Thaddeus Young is our oldest player at 33, with Aminu being second at 30.

That makes a lot of sense. They had to match the salaries. Still on a 1-year deal so gives us a lot of flexibility. And honestly, there's not point in committing a bunch of salary to players that are just 'meh'. Lauri was definitely 'meh'. Collins is not a max type player either. I think we did good. Let the rebuild begin!

Happened to me during the Demar trade. Phone was blowing up with updates from friends and espn alerts.

Get to the tank! Finally.

Spurs were lucky to get a first rounder for DDR. Even if its a few years from now.

Thad could prob provide some decent minutes this year next to the young guys.

Spurs maintain flexibility though with Thad, Aminu and possibly Lonnie coming off the books next year. Should still have the ability to hand out a max contract next summer, if desired.

Pretty sure they could be traded immediately. New signings could only be traded after 90 days I think.

A couple of expiring contracts like that are pretty easy to move. And now we have veteran beef to go in there next to Jakob if we aren't just going small ball.
