Just some roster stats...

11 players return from last year's roster and 14 new players (4 are new transfers):
10 Freshmen
6 Sophomores
3 Juniors
6 Seniors

7 returners started 70%+ of the games and played at least 765 minutes: Crooks (17g, 1505min), Patterson (17, 1432), Buchanan (17, 1279), Campbell (17, 1219), Scranton (14, 1147), Storer (12, 828), Diaz (12, 775)...the only player we lost with these same stats was Yakel (17,1530)

We didn't score much, but 4 of our top 5 points leaders return: Buchanan, Diaz, Jernigan, Storer. Lost Knoble, who was 2nd leading point scorer, but she only had a single goal and 2 assists if you exclude the Lafayette blowout

Jernigan, Landherr and Scranton all ended their 2025 seasons early with knee injuries, but all should be back now

14th ranked recruiting class by TDS, including Churchill (#41), Lacher (#63), Ruiz (#78). Churchill and Lacher started in the spring and looked strong in those games (Churchill scored or assisted on half of our goals). Two of our freshmen were playing internationally prior to this year (Knudsen-Iceland U17 national team) and Hughes (Australia)

Transfer class not ranked, but Carapazza was All-American 3rd Team at Lipscomb last year, scoring 7 goals (including game winner at Mississippi State in NCAAs). Bell played 1300 minutes at ASU)

I have noticed a much larger support staff this season. No comments, just find it interesting.

Birmingham, Ala. Vanderbilt is the favorite to win the 2026 Southeastern Conference women's soccer title in voting by the league's 16 head coaches.

The Commodores, the reigning SEC Tournament champions, were closely followed by Arkansas, Georgia, LSU and Tennessee.

The 34th season of women's soccer in the SEC begins Wednesday, August 12.

On brand, at least?

I hope someone local can attend the upcoming exhibition matches and post some comments here (or on a separate match thread). Sure does help us out-of-staters !!! Heck, even basic stuff like the score would be better than nothing. Of course, more stuff like number of shots, shots on goal, style of play, etc. would be grand !!

And since the staff now includes an official 'Social Media Manager' perhaps we might get updates on X during the match(es) !! Can only hope, right ?!

Now that the old softball complex is being torn down and turned into a soccer training field, I think we should name the entire soccer complex (clubhouse, practice field, and area where Ellis sits), the Coach G Soccer Complex. Pay our respects for all he did for Aggie Soccer and what he's built and accomplished the past 30 years!

Of course she did!

Started in a 3-5-2, which I think is new compared to spring games: Patterson (L), Crooks (C) and Sexton (R) in the back, with Ruiz playing the 6 and Diaz/Lacher up top. Everyone got a chance to play that half, except two of the goalies and 2 girls who aren't dressed. Looks like Parades starting 2nd half in goal.
