I have been looking at Arkansas and trying to figure this out. To be honest, I have not focused on Arkansas in the past and taking a deeper dive not sure if what I am seeing is accurate.

1) Last season they had a veteran keeper and a few key seniors that had transferred in from BYU and Utah that gave them some experience. Are they missing the leadership of these players? Since I did not watch them not sure how much of vocal leaders, these three were. Sometimes early in a season, a team struggles until the natural leader shows up, if ever.

2) Arkansas does not appear to take many players through the transfer portal. Most of the players appear to be their own players. Not sure if this is accurate or not, because this is only based on reviewing roster from last year and this year.

But soccer has seen a crazy amount of transfers and bringing in the right transfers has been very critical for the better programs to fixing gaps in their teams. Maybe they have more transfers than the roster implies, but very shocked at the lack of transfers from quality teams.

A&M has recruited much better than many on this board are willing to admit, but the issue with G was that each year he was losing the key players to other programs and then they were creating impact at those other programs (USC, TCU, FSU). If G could have kept his good players and brought in a few to fill in gaps, his system probably would have stayed successful til the end. But we all know that did not happen and the more he struggled, the more girls were leaving.

3) Schedule - they are playing a very quality schedule. Losses to Baylor, Clemson and North Carolina are not terrible, but when you don't have any wins, it looks really bad. And exhibition loss to Memphis is not fun, but Memphis is a normal NCAA tournament program and it was an exhibition.

Being 0-3-1 looks terrible, but if you look at the teams they have played it may not be a true reflection on the quality of the team. If they can find a leader and gel, they could finish the season strong.

Or the opposite could happen and the team could give up.
