The biggest problem for this team has been and will continue to be the coaching staff as they have very little experience. Is this team super talented? No. However, they have plenty of talent to compete for results every night and play better than they are currently. The player mismanagement and formation are a mess, we are throwing mud at the wall and hoping something sticks with the constant changes. The goalie situation has been constantly talked about so I won't go into that. In regards to the formation we run a very narrow 4-4-2 that continuously puts pressure on a very young defense. Tactically the young talent is struggling which may also be related to coaching style. At times (many) they are lost. It does not help that we have to watch one of his transfers trot around while Kat, who was one of our better players to start the year, sees very little playing time. Unfortunately, we are in worse shape than we were last year. If you would have put Churchill on the team from last year they would have been solid as it was really the big piece that they were missing.
Finally, I'm curious how the players like the coach constantly yelling which is very different from most high level coaching. Soccer is all about development in technical and tactical skills with game planning during training. It will be interesting to see who and what players will continue in this system.

I've only been able to sort of follow the team from afar this season. I expected growing pains. But yikes. These updates sure are discouraging.

I can tell you, they look back, then ignore him. I've seen it every game I've been to.

Unless the HC has made some connections with donors for NIL. This program will sink to the level of WBB and be the worst program in the conference and state. And nobody will care anymore.

You'll lose good portion of the remaining season ticket holders and the students will disappear completely.

WBB is complete joke and the attendance shows it.

His main message is "move up" or "get up" to the defense instead of playing back nearer to the goal. Is it strange we still have not been able to do this?

And having basically been at all the home games, I would totally describe it as "yelling" instruction across the field where someone can hear it. It is not yelling at a player or demeaning them.

That is certainly one of his favorites (even when the defense is moving up all on its own). I wouldn't describe the game yelling as degrading, but you are minimizing the amount of yelling if you think it is mostly just telling the defense to move up. He yelled at Lacher at least 10 times during the Bama game. Everything from her position on the field, the move she made to beat a defender, where she made her run when her teammate had the ball, etc, etc, etc. To be fair, he did tell her one of her runs was well done, but by the end of it, I imagine Lacher was questioning nearly every decision she made during the game.

I am not a believer in everyone should get participation trophies or that you can't demand a lot of your players. The standard should be high and every player should be held accountable. However, coaching college women is different than playing/coaching men in the MLS. Building up your players and helping them become confident is critical in women's collegiate sports. If the vast majority of your feedback is negative, the confidence and resulting play of your players is going to drop. If you loudly question the majority of the decisions a player makes, their ability to be comfortable making decisions during the game will be negatively impacted. It is tough to hear the yelling and then hear the coach say the team didn't play with confidence or didn't seem mentally ready to play. All of your feedback doesn't have to be positive, but find a reasonable balance, read the room and realize you have beat down some of these girls to the point they can't possibly be confident in-game. Watch some of Landherr playing last year compared to when she has gotten an opportunity this year and it is clear she doesn't have the same confidence. Maybe ask yourself why these girls are making mistakes they didn't make last season or even in the spring.

I do know that other coaches are talking about Bobby's yelling when it comes to recruits

The Fuller situation really bothers me. She is constantly showing up in the team's social media seeming to have nothing but a positive attitude. I missed any detailed conversation on this other than it being mentioned in passing.

Don't follow soccer but what has happened to the program?. Didn't they used to be one of the top programs? At least perennial top 20.

coach G was allowed to stay 10 to 15 years too long, the game passed him by as did recruiting. He left the program in shambles. Then we waited way too long to hire a new coach and here we are

We dropped from last week as any benefit from the South Carolina tie was negated by the home loss to a weak LSU team.

SEC
2 - Vanderbilt
7 - Alabama
19 - South Carolina
23 - Oklahoma
26 - Auburn
33 - Texas
37 - Mississippi St.
42 - Kentucky
46 - Florida
47 - Tennessee
48 - Arkansas
64 - Georgia
95 - Ole Miss
101 - LSU
127 - Texas A&M
151 - Missouri

Took the above current 2026 RPI post from another thread. Season isn't quite over, but comparing final 2025 RPI to latest 2026 RPI is interesting. Keep in mind that we only lost 2 players from the 2025 roster who played material minutes and left on their own (Yakel and Veronda). All the other roster departures were Bobby's cuts and 2 other players who didn't play material minutes last season. And we added a pretty highly ranked entering freshmen class. Here is the RPI improvement (decline) by program, with new coaches this year noted with *:

+137 - Texas*
+58 - Auburn
+50 - Ole Miss*
+33 - Florida*

+30 - Oklahoma
+22 - Alabama
+18 - South Carolina
+8 - Kentucky
+2 - Vanderbilt
-2 - Mississippi State*
-21 - Georgia
-24 - Arkansas
-31 - Missouri
-38 - Tennessee
-50 - A&M*
-87 - LSU

Texas and Florida currently projected by Chris Henderson to make NCAA tournament, with Mississippi State on the bubble.
