The amount of discussion in here on this is wild. I don't do a ton of social media but I'm sure there's idiots there too.

Good that he's back as he shouldn't have been suspended to start with, I get why other countries might be upset but they can deal with it, I wish Trump had just shut tf up about it, if Infantino's lips are moving you know the rest of the sentence.

Spreading out a World Cup over 3 continents is a great way to keep some support, too, I would imagine.

All you can hope for is a clean match. After the refs for the Turkey and BH matches, that would be a 180 degree change, because both of them were straight garbage.

What you've made clear is that you'd prefer balogun not play in order to "shut everyone up."

It's such a weird position to take for a few reasons.

1. Who cares what everyone thinks
2. Balogun and the usa were unjustily punished by the misuse of fifas own procedures. Then, the problem was rectified and the team restored whole again and yet we should have the need to do something against our best interest to "shut everyone up?" Strange opinion

In fairness to Belgium, I think they are owed (not necessarily in a legal since but just in a general what is right sense) a stated reason by the committee for the suspension of the punishment.

As has been said earlier in this thread, if FIFA would have just came out with a statement about how the decision process works and the reason for the suspension they would be getting a lot less heat on this.

Denying the appeal on a technical ground instead of just telling them why he is allowed to play when they asked isn't helping.

The thing that never made sense is that FIFA didn't have a mechanism to overturn wrongful red cards in the first place. If they did, all of this would be moot.

According to AI, he does not have a card on his ledger, so a yellow tonight would not result in a suspension in the next round. And after the quarters it resets again.

Edit to add: if he commits an infraction of "similar nature and severity" to the foul in the last match, that would violate the terms of the suspension and result in the red card being reinstated.
