Well, if there's any veracity to it.. Christian and Yunus need to be in his ear.

I did like how it didn't mention Christian as being injured.

On the verge of signing with Man City at 14.

hope it works out for Sullivan. Media, please don't make him into the next Freddy Adu with the pressure of far too lofty expectations. Crazy this kid is only a 2009. If he weren't in an MLS academy, he'd be in 8th or 9th grade.

Fans already making him the next Freddy Adu. Let's see how this kid handles the pressure.

That's easy.

Freddy was a full grown man at 14. This kid is not.

And it's really a very lazy comparison.

You might have been joking, and if you are I did not pick up on the sarcasm so I apologize if so.

But that's Dortmund.

no idea about a player comparison.. are they both CAMs? I was just referring to fans pre-anointing him the next Pele or Messi at 14 or 15 years old when the chances his development gets sidetracked or he becomes a journeyman after a few loans by Man City are probably much higher.

Excited to see how he does after he goes over there. He's clearly very very technically skilled, tactically aware, athletic. He's got all the makeup to deserve to the contract and some hype. He'll have to stay healthy, fall into situations where's getting plenty of minutes to continue his development, and have the mental fortitude to keep it up through tough situations from injuries, to having to earn minutes, to even potential language barriers and culture shock depending on what City does with him.

I know where you're coming from but what happened to Freddy has nothing to do with the trajectory of Cavan.

Messi was heralded from a very young age and we all know how he turned out.
Of course this kids in highly unlikely to be the next Messi.

I'm excited to see how his career goes.

It's funny how quickly people attach Freddy's name to every young talent we have.

Kid has a euro passport. Why not go now before 18?

Honestly I think MLS is the best place for him right now. He's not gonna be ready to start for a Top 5 league club for a couple years.

Of course not. But playing u18/u23 etc in Europe is much less pressure than playing MLS as a young teen.

That's crazy. He has so much future. He is one of 2 2005s with a cap.

Interesting that he stayed in the US if he has a euro passport.

The rumor I saw was that he wanted to play the Olympics for the USMNT and then possibly switch to Bosnia. We said no to that and he bailed.

Yeah, idk. If a kid really thinks playing for Bosnia is in his best long-term interests, good luck to him.
