The alarm bells are on for me with Pulisic. This is what happens to Americans who play for big clubs. They pay big money to sell us jerseys and then sit them on the bench to die slowly until they sell them to LA Galaxy to play against garbage for the rest their careers.

The sad thing is he was ALREADY at one of the ~20 clubs that actually matters. And now he's on the bench at Chelsea.

And if you're going to retort that this is a one time blip, then starting against Norwich and Bournemouth isn't going to change my mind. He needed to start THIS GAME against THIS opponent. Hopefully he gets on the field soon and hopefully starts against the rest of the big 6 and in the champions league.

The defense is not good and the offense looks reliant on the fullbacks getting forward. Hopefully Kante is big fix.

Well the biggest thing will be dealing with expectations. He is coming in as the only transfer for Chelsea to semi-replace one of the top 5 players who just left and he's playing for a manager who has one year of experience at the Championship level. He's got to adjust to a much more physical league. And then you have NBCSports basically having a Pulisic tracker pop to announce if he's starting or not in other matches.

If you go on any international soccer boards, a ton of people want to see him fail because he's simply an American who is expected to be very good.

I think this will be a difficult transition and hopefully he succeeds.

Personally, I don't think you have to worry about Mason Mount taking up a starting spot long term. Chelsea also paid a lot more than shirt money for Pulisic.

Two different positions, but I do like Barkley in the 10 role and Pulisic on the left. Chelsea was left down by its back 6 today. Azpi is done. He doesn't have the ability to ply that high anymore.

City just got a slap on the wrist (370k swiss franc fine) for basically the same thing Chelsea were handed a multiple window transfer ban for.
