If you're talking about the challenge in the 89th minute, I disagree. Norwegian player successfully played the ball (didn't play it well but she got there). After she played it is when the Australian player collided with her extended leg. Huge gamble but looked to me like she pulled it off.

If you're talking about the push on Kerr at 92' I thought it was pretty benign. Could've been called but not surprised it wasn't. Feel like that type of foul is let go 99% of the time.

And had they been given the penalty clearly it's no guarantee that Australia makes it.

The 89th, and she went through her. Touching the ball actually isn't a defining factor in whether it's a foul or not, contrary to popular belief.

Either way, the fact that it wasn't even reviewed is a joke.

Went back and watched it a couple times earlier before my post. Can't find a video of the incident anywhere to check again, but when I watched it before it didn't look to me like she went through her at all. Aussie was running alongside a Norwegian player chasing down the ball, the ball was out in front of everyone, the player who made the tackle comes in from the side and she's the first one to get to the ball. Didn't look like there was any contact at all between her and the Aussie player until after she got a touch on the ball.

If it's illegal for her to get into the path of the Aussie player to make a play on the ball, then I guess it should've been a penalty. I always thought that when you had two people going for a ball whoever gets there first hasn't done anything illegal (again, assuming they don't make contact with the other player on the way there). I was looking for the video to take another look but couldn't find it. Would love to discuss further with the video in front of both of us. I'm not a rules expert so my interpretation might be wrong.

Yeah, I can't find it either unfortunately. DVRed the replay so I'll grab it off there in a day or two if needed.

Watching when it happened, the defender got a tiny touch on the ball (like barely contacted) then went through the attacker and took her down. Had she cleared the ball I wouldn't make the call, but in this case had the attacker stayed up she'd have been in on goal.

Curious to get an interpretation from one of our resident refs (I was licensed a looong time ago), but at worst it should have absolutely been reviewed.

Oh man. I watched the replay. It clearly came from the Cameroon player. I don't think she was intentionally spitting at anyone but still. In an adult game that a send off or you will have a fight. Same in a U19 boys game. Since it's red or nothing I guess they went with nothing.

This is delaying a restart. At this level it's obvious dissent. Find the captain and tell them kick off or take the card for delaying the restart.

This was a nightmare first half for the referee and the near AR.
