I'll take the top 3-5 nominations once the tourney is over and put a true poll together for the TexAgs top goal of the WC award

That knocks out rvp for me. Didn't think there was anyway.

To me this goal is better than Cahill's because of the situation--Cahill's goal was essentially meaningless.

Man that is an awesome goal.

Still think RVP's is #1. Have never ever seen a goal like that.

My top 4 ATM

1. RVP
2. Rodriguez
3. Cahill
4. Jones

Not to bring up bad memories for some here, but that goal yesterday remix ed me of Argentina's goal against Mexico in 2006.

Rodriguez has the best goal of tournament so far. Cahill is number two. However the Flying Dutchman is the one I'll remember 20 years from now.

Eric Cantona scored a goal nearly identical to James Rodriguez many years ago.

I can't argue with anyone saying RvP's is better than Rodriguez's. It was a very unique goal that I don't think I've seen before.

I thought RVPs would be the GOTT wen he made it. I've seen guys rip one time volleys before. They are fantastic goals and require amazing timing. When they go in its because the timing is so perfect they come off the foot like a rocket. But guys do that all the time. I have never seen anyone do what RVP did.

I'll concede not the best. But Julian Green's was pretty sick, especially for a teenager.

Good volley but we see a goal like that almost every weekend in Europe....

Volley, yes. Volley one-timed from a ball lobbed over the back line? Not so often.

I think he scored with his first touch ever in a WC.

Pretty unique.

Bringing this to the top since I read this article. Looks like the world though James had the best goal. Regardless who you think won, we saw some damn impressive goals. I've only been watching WCs since 06 and this was definitely the best one.
