Well, FSU lost because a **** ton of their team wasn't playing. You could say that if they'd been in the CFP, they probably wouldn't have that problem. They should have been given a shot over tessus.

No, they wouldn't. No one gains an advantage by faking an injury if the clock starts when the ball is set. Offense can run off the same time in either scenario.

The simple fix is to give the offense the option of taking a timeout in the last 2 minutes or taking a 10 second runoff and running clock with 25 second play clock (assuming clock was running). Don't force a timeout on the offense that's trying to run clock.

FSU didn't lose, the players QUIT. Something like 16/22 starters did not dress as they are in the portal, declared for the draft or a couple were injured. That was a sad day for college football in Miami. Georgia a better team regardless, but FSU should have to give their bowl money back after that joke.

I see the B1G pushing for something like this at the next rules meeting. This came close to costing them the game. And it does raise the specter of defensive teams deliberately injuring players to cause a clock stoppage. It's a dumb rule. What if it had been a Texas player faking injury. Clock should start when the player is off the field.
Different scenarios. If it was a Texas player they'd be forced to use a timeout. They don't have one so it'd be a clock runoff and I do believe the game clock would start with the play clock.
I'm almost pissed at Washington for the stress at the end

Yeah, they'd be 7+ point favorites over Washington, Michigan, and Texas. Probably 4.5 over Bama.

tu got a ton of calls this year they shouldn't have gotten. Just the houston game calls if done right would have kept cow out of the playoff. Obviously Georgia would have been the better choice of FSU, but FSU was 13-0 and earned the right to the spot.
