I'd just like to say on record… Elko has done a brilliant job assembling his crew so far. Despite the losses in the portal, I'm genuinely hyped for this coming year. It really feels like he could be building a squad that could do some incredible damage. But the good damage. Not the Sumlin damage.

Yes and it's not bad necessarily unless you're one that think we have to have a DC to recruit defensive players. Also its not because we're waiting on anyone or been rejected. The closest to a rejection we've seen is Fuller and I'm not sure how far that progressed.

and a DC hire being expedited would be MUCH more important if our head coach wasn't one of the top DC's in the country for multiple years leading up to becoming a head coach. I'd be concerned if we had an offensive play caller as head coach. Elko will find/get who he needs.

Wouldn't be terrible. The effort our WR played with under him I haven't seen since. Those guys played every play 100% no matter where the play was going.

I remember getting invited to go watch Spring ball one year and Listening to him coach his guys is the one thing I really remember well. He is a great teacher and explainer of what he wants from his guys at receiver.

Awesome interview. I love it that T Bob hates him for being at A&M now but you can see the respect that he has for Moffitt. This is a great hire by Elko.

I still believe after the bowl game on the 27th things will start heating up to finish out the hiring of the position coaches. The DC hire might be after one of the major bowl games. At least that's what I'm thinking.

So it looks like Manny Diaz is naming Jonathan Brewer from SMU his OC, does that mean Kevin Johns will be coming here in some capacity? Maybe WR coach?
