I'll say this...if it were Georgia, Alabama or Texas that was in Florida State's position, they would be getting lauded for their grit and perseverance in being an undefeated Power 5 champion with backup and 3rd string QB playing the final two games.
In the old BCS days, we'd be getting Michigan - Washington and FSU would be 2004 Auburn on the outside looking in.
Putting in two one-loss conference champions over FSU would be a terrible message to send, basically that the outcomes of the games don't matter.
I could see either of Texas or Alabama seeded 3rd above FSU, but I don't think Florida State gets left out.
Michigan
Washington
Texas
FSU
totally agree. I stated this on another thread...but I will repeat myself:
Do you guys realize that if Florida St gets F'ed out of a CFP spot....... and either Texas, Georgia, or Alabama makes it to the title game........
then you could have a potential scenario where a 14-0 FSU team with wins over
Louisville, Miami, Clemson, LSU and Florida would be sitting at home watching some teams with at least one loss playing for the national title game.
Florida St was won 19 games in a row. The only way you could justify screwing Florida St was if they had a weak non conference schedule.
Non conference wins over Florida and LSU and being undefeated should get Florida St the #3 seed.
At the beginning of the night I was convinced that Bama should be #4 seed, but the more I think about it.....it has to go to Texas because of H2H
