I'll say this...if it were Georgia, Alabama or Texas that was in Florida State's position, they would be getting lauded for their grit and perseverance in being an undefeated Power 5 champion with backup and 3rd string QB playing the final two games.

In the old BCS days, we'd be getting Michigan - Washington and FSU would be 2004 Auburn on the outside looking in.

Putting in two one-loss conference champions over FSU would be a terrible message to send, basically that the outcomes of the games don't matter.

I could see either of Texas or Alabama seeded 3rd above FSU, but I don't think Florida State gets left out.

Media sip hype propaganda this morning as expected.

They shouldn't be rewarded but beating one of the weakest teams yesterday.

They did a little more than just beat them. They destroyed them.

Fl st gets the big screw because the committe is too biased to leave tu out, and too cowardly to leave the SEC out.

TexAgs should be renamed 5 Stages of Grief, it honestly is high comedy right now.

fSU losing their quarterback has to come in to play. Sadly, they are not the same losing their best player.

As much as we don't like it, tu is in. Can't deny undefeated conference champ FSU, and the committee has made it clear they prioritize conference champs and then head to head. I think it stops there. This line of thinking around "worst loss" isn't relevant when the teams in question played each other. So our friends in Austin are going to box out the SEC a year before they join it.

For those that are saying the SEC is out...does conference affiliation and strength of schedule not matter anymore? Bama had a way harder schedule than everyone else. Michigan played Ohio State (Penn State is garbage), Texas beat Bama sure... go else did they play...OU?

SEC is not getting left out

What ranking you using for that strength of schedule argument?

The SEC beat no one out of conference. Their best win just lose by 10 to a team starting their third string QB

Get a life man.

You're on this board 24x7 trying to justify your whorns getting in. It's hilarious and sad.

Leaving Fla State out may end the ACC quicker than anything

Not sure how I would feel about that but if they get left out after an undefeated season in that conference they would have much more justification for wanting out and Clemson and others would go as well. Regardless that we are going to a 12 team playoff which makes no sense in the current landscape of college football. 8 teams max and would have been perfect this season no question.

Normally the Pac 12 makes their job a lot easier by having a 2 or 3 loss conference champ.

They had to have known when they decided on a 4 team playoff that this was a possibility to have either all undefeated or 1 loss P5 champs.

Should have been 8 from the start.

totally agree. I stated this on another thread...but I will repeat myself:

Do you guys realize that if Florida St gets F'ed out of a CFP spot....... and either Texas, Georgia, or Alabama makes it to the title game........

then you could have a potential scenario where a 14-0 FSU team with wins over Louisville, Miami, Clemson, LSU and Florida would be sitting at home watching some teams with at least one loss playing for the national title game.

Florida St was won 19 games in a row. The only way you could justify screwing Florida St was if they had a weak non conference schedule.
Non conference wins over Florida and LSU and being undefeated should get Florida St the #3 seed.

At the beginning of the night I was convinced that Bama should be #4 seed, but the more I think about it.....it has to go to Texas because of H2H

My list
1. Washington
2. Michigan
3. Alabama
4. FSU

horn and orange aggies (read with a lisp):
1. Texas - because
2. Bama - Texas beat Bama who won SEC
3. UW - won Pac12 conference which we almost went to and would have won
4. Michigan - won B1G and we played them in '04. Matthew will be there with bongos.
