Washington, Michigan , Fl St , tu is how it will fall on the basis of tu's head to head victory over Bama.

You can't leave an undefeated P5 out. You can't punish Fla St for an injury either.

Those are not the 4 best teams at this point of the season but that's how it'll go I believe.

It''s very difficult and messy this yr. Glad we are going to a 12 team format next yr to try to avoid these kind of conversations going forward.

If that happens, I hope Texas loses their semifinal playoff game. I don't want Texas playing in the CFP, much less winning it. I hope Michigan or Washington steps up and smashes Texas in their first-ever CFP game.

Strength of schedule, best wins, worst losses, etc. are all meaningless when there is a head to head game. Texas beat Alabama, end of story.

There are a couple of things that are in Florida St's favor.

Yes... they were the weakest looking team this weekend, but that can easily be explained by them starting a 3rd string quarterback.

They played 2 SEC powerhouses out of conference in LSU and Florida and handled them both quite easily. I'm not one to penalize a school if a traditional power doesn't have as great a season as they are accustomed to.
It takes balls to play LSU and Florida OOC.

Texas played Alabama OOC....but who else? Rice and Wyoming. It could easily be argued that if you replace Rice or Wyoming with LSU or Florida then Texas might have another loss.

Even if Florida sucked this season, Im not one to hold that against FSU. Florida is a team that you would expect to be elite most years.

Florida St being undefeated with wins over Miami, Clemson, LSU and Florida should get you in the CFP.

quite a few pundits think Washington will get the 1-seed

by virtue of 2 wins over top 10 Oregon

It matters, and Florida State played a much easier schedule than Texas and Bama, and aren't as good as either one of them.
