David Nuño: Jamie Vinson, Rubén Dominguez and Indiana
- Troy from TKO has a special request. I am giving him the first one. How about the Jamie Vinson dunk? That dunk was just beautiful.
- Rubén Dominguez is our guy. He could play Fernando Mendoza in a movie.
- We have to put Indiana in there and Fernando Mendoza. They won the national championship. Curt Cignetti gets his championship. I think it's fair to say he’s the best coach in college football.
Olin Buchanan: Rylan Griffen, Rashaun Agee and Rubén Dominguez
- Vinson's dunk was pretty. He posterized the 7-footer from Texas.
- It would be easy to say Fernando Mendoza, but I'm always going to be A&M first. I could come up with three guys.
- What do they say is the basis of education? "The three Rs": Readin', writin' and arithmetic. Obviously, spelling is not involved there. The three Rs that schooled Texas were Rylan, Rubén and Rashaun.
- Rylan Griffen had 17 second-half points, including 10 points in the first four minutes that featured a four-point play.
- Rashaun Agee is 6-foot-5 (and a quarter) barefooted, and he goes out and outplays Matas Vokietaitis. He outplayed him with a double-double with 17 and 11.
- Dominguez only had 10 points, which surprised me. He got fouled shooting a 3-pointer and nailed all three free throws. He played good ball.
- For Mendoza, how many times do you see a guy dive and lose the ball when he gets hit? What an effort. How can you not love that? Well, unless you're a Miami fan, but even then, you have to respect it.
- Cignetti just wins. Google him. I am saying he is the best coach in college football. Some guys can go places where you have to screw it up to not be successful because they're set up for success. Indiana is not one of those places.
- I think A&M, finally, started realizing what it takes to win at a high level around 2013 and then started investing to win. For a long time, they tried to win on the cheap. They wanted to play at the $100 table but only brought one $100 bill. Now, they realized they have to bring a whole lot of cash. Unless you're Cignetti, that doesn't translate to winning championships right away, and it's a process. Let's face it, A&M is not that far away. We just saw them five yards away from at least being tied and other plays from beating Miami, who was really close to winning a national championship. The next step will be the hardest step.
