quote:quote:Underachieved...he won a freaking BCS bowl game with Kansas for god's sake. Let that sink in
Is Mangino really that great of an OC? I honestly know very little about him besides he vastly underachieved as a HC. Why would he be great?
The only thing more improbable he could have done would have been to win one with A&M

quote:What about sucking as OC AND QB coaching?
That would mean Spav f'd up big time...more than just sucking as OC.

Isn't Mangino notorious for being a total a-hole to players and pretty much everyone else? Might not be the best guy to bring in if there's any truth to Lopez's talk about division and lack of buy-in among the players.
quote:Holy s*** you're dense... why would Phil Montgomery come to A&M???
None of those coaches have this on their resume!

quote:depends on how loud the money talks, really. if sumlin receives enough pressure from the right sources, spaz could be out of a job in a matter of days.
Do people really think Spav isn't going to finish the season as our OC?
quote:Hhmmm. The plot thickens.
Rhoads wouldn't say whether Mangino quit or was fired.

quote:I actually looked him up just before I got to this page and I don't see that he's landed anywhere. Its ashame he got caught up in the coaching change in the off-season. I think he has a lot of potential and I hope he gets in with a good head coach and system. He has the potential to be at A&M, but he'll need more on his resume, first.
Travis Bush?
quote:june jones doesnt run the same offense....
With all this Mangino talk, I started thinking about actually coaches that would make sense to come in mid-season. I don't think we would just swap OCs, but hire an offensive consultant. Why not bring in a guy like June Jones? Just a thought.
quote:Exactly!
There is no way someone is going to come in from outside the staff and call plays. None. It would be crazy. The OC is expected to know the offense, know the personnel and call the game mid season? Lunacy.
On top of that, who would get fired? Spav or Morehead? Then who coaches those positions? Christensen? At least that would be a like for like change, but are we really going to fire Christensen now?
