I don't know what's more amazing: the find, the joke that Tyler made, or the fact that you got a Zoo thread to go ten pages in one day without posting a single hottie.

wow, 10 pages! Glad that ya'll are enjoying this.

Here's a few more pics of an interesting item:
1. Book of Yells from 1917-1918.

2. Notice the yells on the left. I've often wondered where some of the phrases came from (Hullabaloo, Caneck, Caneck & Chick-gar Roo-gar Rum). It looks like they were actually yells at the time, so they were actually just incorporated into the song.......

3. Saw Varsity's Horns Off was also a yell at the time. Another yell added to the War Hymn.

4. Farmers Fight! Different that the modern version.

take your time on deciding what to do with it..

if you decide to keep it in your house go to a book curator and see what is the best way to keep them in your house to preserve them.

your dad knew how important your granddad was to A&M and the stuff he had left him. For whatever reason your dad thought it was important to keep that stuff in the family.

This should be put on display in the reception area for the Legends Suites post-Kyle Field remodel, and of course one of those suites should be kept available for your personal use as compensation.

You're very fortunate. Any day-to-day memos about corps life for your grandfather would be a treasure. I'm class of 65 and never put anything much about day-to-day.Recommend you save this for your kids and Aggie friends to look at and see what was it like in the Corps and life at A&M. Your dad-class of 63 had some stories I'm sure you can treasure.

It's not like the Yell Leaders haven't seen these yells. They know plenty of the old yells.

For the record, I believe Skyrocket was interpreted wrong. I think the "whisteeeee" was an actual whistle.
