Agree with previous poster on how the art of shaking hands is becoming scarcer over time.

I could add to this dude's map. We used to enter between Crocker and McInnis. He doesn't even have that corridor "explored" yet. Yeah, we was pretty baller. Not "ring on left hand" baller though.

I wore my first ring on my right hand, had it resized downwards during the 99% Lean Meat Bison years, and quit wearing it because it got stolen.

I ordered my replacement ring in '04 but a combination of pizza and weight-lifting meant a tight fit on the right. Consequently, I quit wearing it except on ceremonial occasions.

Now when I do wear it, I wear it on the left. It's out of the way for handshakes and head pats, and it goes on easier since I wear my wedding band there the rest of the time. Oddly, I can shift my wedding band to my right without much problem, but more often than not it's just too much trouble to get the Big Boy on and off the right.

Military guys apparently aren't supposed to have any jewlery on the hand that they salute with so they with on their left hand. Also i have heard that some guys wear the ring of their alma mater on their left hand because it is closer to their heart

I am 98% sure that class rings are fine for members of the military. You see dudes from the national service academies (West Point, etc.) wearing their rings on their right hands all the time.

I heard the same thing... something to do with cav guys painting the underside of their jumper collars blue.

My mother wears her ring on her left hand. She was the first woman admitted to the society in question. I can attest to this society being real.

I can also tell you that this secret society has nothing to do with the corps. In fact, they've been instrumental in the gradual decline in the corps membership.

I have heard of that secret society! They're called the A&M Butt Pirates and they only shake with their left ring hand while holding their pen 15s in their right hand.

Yell leaders traditionally wear it on the left hand.

I'm not going to say the name but yes it is A&M's secret society that is primarily Corps members. Yes, most of you are correct in that you wearing your ring on your left hand was an indication you were in this society. The rationale behind this is that, "You are married to A&M and the Corps.". Upon entry into this society you are allowed to switch it to the right only if you get married. As far as, "What was the society all about?", let's say the society is pro-tradionalist. By that I mean they are not very pro women or non-caucausians being in the Corps. Things are done in secret against specific individuals that fell into certain non-traditionalists views shared by this society.
Some of you have already hinted around at the name of the organization and got it right. The Aggie Ring on the left ring finger and being in the Corps 99.9% is a dead give away that you are or were a member of this society. It is structured very similar to Skull & Bones with a secret meeting location. Your initiation into this organization is very interesting to say the least.

Wearing it on the left hand...the only way to go...of course I wear my other school ring on the right hand!

I wear mine on my left hand sometimes depending on the weather. if its hot and my hand swells, right hand, cold and my hand shrinks, left hand. also, if i get a knick in the base of the ring, it rubs on my right hand and not on my left. if i'm doing something where i worry about losing it, i put it on my left hand bc it's a fatter finger. actually have it on my left right now. and i'm right handed, it does get in the way of shaking hands.

I wear mine behind my wedding ring on my left hand when I get really drunk or doing something like throwing a football. The wedding ring is much more snug and keeps me from losing my aggie ring (which I tend to do when really drunk).
