i believe this is an old military school acceptable practice. My father is a West Point graduate and he and his classmates all wear their rings on the left hand. Of course they are all right handed. I started wearing my ring on the left hand like he did, but switched to the right after a few years because I am left handed. Personally I would wear it opposite the hand you write with. I was also told by a very old A&M grad that no matter which hand you wear it on the school emblem faces your heart.

At the rate y'all lose them does it really matter which hand?

I wear my ring on both hands. At the same time.
