I do bench twice a week, and it's always after squats or deadlifts. One reason, the lower body lift has got my blood flowing, muscles stretched, and alert. But the other reason is a psychological one. I feel like, even though it's a different lift, I just lifted in the 400 lb range on either squat or deads, so 275 on bench seems more manageable. I have hit my PR's on bench only after squats or deads.
