I used to book Y fares for work back in the day before Concur put the kibosh on that. Economy fare was paid and upgrade was automatic. They were always more expensive than an actual first fare.

Yes it is delta representative. But the point still stands for all carriers. Much more expensive to buy first class (relative to coach) back in the day than it is now.

Works for me. Nice to get an instant upgrade on the Y fare when available.

Had to take a flight from Houston to phoenix a couple weeks ago for work, booked IAH-DEN-PHX, PHX-IAH (I needed 3 segments to renew platinum). Being my last trip of the year and only having 20 PP left I thought why not at least try, Put in my plus points request for IAH-DEN knowing it's was highly unlikely but might as well try. Moved me from 74th to 8th with 7 FC open. Oh well I tried. Morning of the flight (took an evening flight) I looked at my flights and PHX-IAH still had 3 seats in FC and i was already 5th just with status so I thought, ok I'll cancel the DEN request and grab the other one since I was still at 8th with only 2 seats left. When I canceled and went back into to request, I got offered and automatic instant upgrade on the IAH-DEN flight instead of a waitlist. I was a little shocked. Nice little treat to end the year.

That said, 36 flights this year, used both my PP upgrades, and got a status upgrade on 23 flights, so 25/36. Not bad.

So how is traffic flowing these past few days with the new international arrivals area with multiple lanes open?

Just came back in. Sitting in stop and go on JFK trying to get to hardy…. Global entry had one lane open so it was backed up. Why cant we just walk out or drop off a receipt and go like in the past? IAH has the slowest global entry of any airport. One guy this evening probably 3 flights worth of GE people. Then the ride on disney train to B with a family moving here or something with about 9 giant suitcases so we were packed in like sardines

I was on my way back to Houston from Denver and was sitting bulkhead in economy plus. About an hour into the flight I checked the united app for some reason and noticed I had been upgraded to FC. Must have happened as we were boarding and I never got a notification from United.

Edit to say I was flying to Cancun, not returning from Denver.

No CLEAR at Terminal B anymore. The food court as you exit security is also gone.

Chick-fil-A is moving from B to D. Might come back after all the B construction is finished, but nothing signed yet. There is a CFA in A.

Was supposed to close at end of February, but some issues arose and it closed early. D location opens mid-March.

Was there a few days ago. B is dead. Long live B.

I parked at B but will land at C/E when I get back. I tell you getting into the terminal B when you park is still messed up beyond belief. I ran into a dude wheeling in his luggage laying horizontally on the temporary path into the terminal. What a cluster.

You have to take the stairs down just to the right of the outside valet window. It takes you into the subway but you shorten your walk around that temporary crap and ride an escalator up. All the employees take this route and unless you are checking a bag this is the way I go.

Never had the App not figure out or let me tell it Terminal C. Biggest problem I've had is barely functional cell signal inside the garage, combined with a power-tripping militant HC Sheriff deputy screaming at anyone that dates try to walk within 20 ft of the street in search of signal.

But last time I was down there they've installed a RideshareArea Wi-Fi network.

I had ther same issue with Uber recently - telling us to get picked up at C when we flew into B.

Been meaning to complain about that for a while. At&t cell service in and around the airport is absolutely terrible.

Flew out of IAH this morning. TSA agent confirmed B lobby closing next week, maybe week after for construction. He said that includes TSA. Will have to use A, C, D, E to pass TSA then train over if flight departs from B. Ugh…..
