If you fly out anytime between thurs-monday and come back within those days and pre book, the garage is 50% off for weekend travel. I use the heck out of that deal.
Just did this for Hobby. Makes it nearly the same price as uncovered surface lot parking.

Couple of things about HOU.

There are EcoPark spaces that are within a short walking distance of the terminal. They are uncovered, though. You enter the terminal on the ground floor and have to walk down a hallway to the baggage claim area, and then go up to security.

BF's co-worker had his truck stolen out of the HOU Ecopark lot a couple of months ago. He thinks it happened within minutes of him parking and heading into the terminal (basically, there are people waiting).

He found out because the thieves tossed his OnStar and personal effects out onto the road near the airport. Someone walking found his stuff, and there was a business card mixed in with it. The person called the number on the card, and after a WTF moment, he figured out his truck was stolen.

I've frequently parked at the uncovered EcoPark surface lot and used the shuttle that drops you off at the side airport entrance. I drive a 19 year old truck with a micro switch, so I'm not too concerned of theft. I would not park there with a late model vehicle.

Flying out of Terminal C tomorrow. No checked bags. Taking Uber to IAH. Should I ask them to drop me off at A, B, or C? Don't mind taking train or walking between terminals.

B. Security is quick and stay to the right when you exit to get to the skyway.

Thanks. That's what I figured, and that's what we did in July. Just wanted to be sure that's still the best spot.

Just did this an hour ago and there wasn't a single person at bag drop or security. Incredible easy.

Coming back Sunday evening and usually do the same but I really want to try out this taxi idea at E. From reading this you come out of baggage claim, go left past the millions of angry people waiting for an Uber and it's at the very end? I admit I've never seen it before but I usually avoid that area at all costs.

I think things will ease up now that summer is over. I parked Monday morning around 11 and actually got on the 3rd level in the terminal C garage. I haven't parked below level 5 in years.

Yes, something like column 18. There will be a guy in a safety vest, tell him you need a cab and he'll hail one for you.

I've used the parking spot on JFK the past two weeks and I've had issues both times. The first time the app wouldn't scan my reservation and the lady was very rudely trying to claim I had no reservation. This past time when I arrived the shuttle picked me up at C then looped to both A/B and picked up nobody. I know they have enough shuttles to dedicate some to C and others to A/B. Then I had a barcode issue trying to leave that time too and had another nasty parking attendant.
The past two weeks have been so bad I'm trying to figure out other options.

I use Fast Park as I come in on the 59 side…only issue is sometimes there's a wait for the shuttle but I've been overall happy

And get free parking for vacations by racking up the points during work travel

Yes. It's at the end. There is an airport employee waiting there and they radio a cab when you walk up. Took us five minutes when we did it a few weeks ago.

I have to fly to Mexico City on business tomorrow for one night. Trying to decide if I want to deal with terminal B parking or just Uber to the airport and cab home Friday night. Cost is borne by my employer so that's not an issue.

I had missed like 4 pages and jumped to the end earlier this week. I assumed the major issues were from the pedestrian incident. I've been flying all summer and had issues with the kiosks for several years, but I've never been parked on the ramp.

That's what I do. If Hobby, I'll sometimes valet if it's a weekend trip. But IAH is always a driver or Uber.

Coming back to this thread to read the *****ing from people who deliberately choose to ignore the advice given repeatedly in this thread has become one of my new favorite activities on Texags.

Uber to B. TSA pre check was less than five minutes. Train to E, Starbucks and now waiting to board. Very easy today. Only traffic was on the beltway to exit JFK. Zero traffic from there to B drop off

Have a 3:35 to FRA and surprisingly had no issues getting dropped off.

Of course, I'm aware that I'm screwed when I come back next week.

Explain the strategy of taking the trail of tears train prior to security?

I understand taking it after claiming a bag and needing to get back to B, but can't understand the reasoning for taking it pre-security for your departure.

Why not just do B security and then the sky train to your departure terminal?

Main reason I could see is if you're flying w/ a carrier that doesn't fly out of B and checking bags.

Valid point.

I couldn't expand my reasoning as I typically fly United and hardly ever check a bag.
TX04Aggie

As long as you are flying United you can check your bag at B,C,E no matter what terminal you fly out of. But if you arent flying United then yeah you need to go to A or D to check.

Growing up here, I I would always want to go the airport as a kid with parents to pick anyone up coming to town to get on the train. I do remember my parents telling us it was "controlled at Disney" or something to that effect. I'm sure something they read in the paper or saw on local news, but likely wasn't 100% accurate! We would get there early just to ride it down to the next terminal and back. Cheap entertainment I guess.
