What is an election denier ?
You should ask the litany of dems who have questioned every election since W in 2000.

The term election denier used as a pejorative towards anyone who even dares to speak about potential issues with elections is the same tactic covid nazis used when they labeled anyone who was innocently unsure about the vaccine, antivaxxers.

They take anyone who has any semblance of an against the grain take and label them something as negative sounding as possible, then use it as much as possible in the harshest manner they can.
Sounds like something an election denier would say.

Who should be considered more of an "election denier"?
A) someone that believes the votes cast and resulting outcome may have included some inaccurate/corrupt influences

B) someone who doesn't support full transparency to ensure all valid living voters' ballots are cast without undue influence and counted accordingly

Ogg is basically a Republican already, and the Dems are coming for her now. She'll likely face a serious challenger in the primary.

Awesome. Race to the bottom at warp speed. Can't wait to be the next LA, San Fran, or Seattle where the DA simply refuses to prosecute any offenders if they check the right boxes.

Probably not. The issue is Lina didn't benefit financially directly from the situation which makes a conviction harder to get.

And this is why everyone should report to jury duty so law minded factual critical thinkers are in the box and not those easily swayed by feelings.

I haven't heard anything, inside baseball or otherwise, to indicate Hidalgo was actually involved in the contract shenanigans. Everything seems to point to staffers taking advantage of her inexperience and naivete.

It's her office. Buck stops somewhere.

The DAs best hope is one or more flip on her. I can't imagine throwing myself on the sword for a county Judge.

But if that's the message they want, it doesn't look good for her. However she was just reelected and this will be forgotten in 4 years.

Exactly. CEOs no longer get to say 'I didn't know' after Enron and neither should she. Her office and her job to know.

Unfortunately, it's up to voters to enforce where the buck stops in a lot of cases and they are often too uneducated to make good decisions. A crackhead's vote counts the same as the vote of political science professor at Rice.

Not picking on Rice specifically, but is there much of a difference these days?

Tom DeLay was indicted in Travis County by Ronnie Earle for doing stuff with campaign donations that was actually legal so there's no reason not to go after Lina. There's zero chance she didn't benefit financially in some manner.

I lapsed there was Court today. Missed the first 2 hours.

Ellis is MIA. Lina is wearing a mask...not sure why.

Item 228: Election issues. Ramsey is discussing the issues of Harris County's unique issues, but a lawyer stops...the TX RNC is suing the county, so no open discussions can be held.

"All questions are rooted in denialism. But we can have an open discussion as long as they're not rooted in conspiracy theories." (paraphrased) - Lina

Cagle takes umbrage.

Ramsey: "I have clear questions to determine the source of the problems. The only person denying there's an issue with the elections is you, Judge." (Paraphrased)

Garcia "Let's take these items off the agenda until Election Admin finishes his discovery" (paraphrased)

Court ended at 1pm. Record speed.

So this is really odd. The dems now control thr court 4-1.

They had a private swearing in ceremony. Followed by a public one. Why they have 2 I don't know.

"While judges and other countywide officers took the oath of office administered by U.S. District Judge Alfred Bennett, Hidalgo skipped the ceremony, arriving late and taking the microphone to deliver an unscheduled 10-minute speech after the Pride Chorus Houston had performed its closing song and many officials, including Garcia and Briones, had left the stage.

"My fellow commissioners tried to cut me out of the program," Hidalgo told the audience. "They can't take two women in power. Today when Commissioner Briones is sworn in, we will have for the first time two women."

Elected officials attending the event were not invited to speak during the relatively brief ceremony. Hidalgo was scheduled to give comments during a reception, but she did not attend."

So she's throwing her fellow dems under the bus and ignoring the agenda?

"Hidalgo shouted some of her remarks, portraying herself as a politician determined not to be silenced.

"Let's face the challenges that our community grapples with head-on, even if it's politically inconvenient to bring them up," Hidalgo said. "You would think after four years of leadership it would be palatable to see me in front of a microphone. They're going to have to get used to it.""

First court of 2023 is 1/10. They will also now hold a business court, so the 2x per month schedule is now gone.
