Hardly. He'll be fine. It's not like he was inciting the savages that caused this.

He's about to become a defendant in at least a dozen lawsuits.

Why the **** did he take his children there?

I used to get dropped off at Astroworld and went to concerts at Fitz and at least one outdoor music fest (Buzz block party at city streets) in 9th grade. How did I survive?

I wouldn't drop my 16yo girl off or anything but videos of Travis Scott rages look like a blast.

I dont thibk fitz is comparable. Nor is astroworld I dont think. Something like warped tour is probably on the level with number of attendees and was also at the same venue at least once. You bring up a great point though, because I too was going to things somewhat similar as a teenager. Idk what Travis Scott's music is about but that would probably be one of the first things I'd look at before I'd let my kids attend something like this. Just being familiar with most rap music I'd most likely not support going to a rap festival vs a punk rock or metal festival. They draw completely different crowds. Pretty good thought exercise though.

I dropped off my son and a friend at the Isaiah Rashad concert at Bayou Music Center last week and surveyed the crowd before I left and felt good about things and even more so when the concert was over. My boy said that there was an African American couple that was standing next to them that kept an eye on them and would protect them. He said he felt very safe. However, there is no way I would've let him go to Astroworld. I would've had to go with him and that's something that's pretty freaking far down my bucket list.

Yea that Brent zwerneman tweet is pretty disingenuous or misleading imo. Sure the show went on but how on earth was he supposed to know. Its not like he is listening to police scanners or has a runner telling him things about what is going on. The show has a script and I imagine the flow of the show doesn't allow for any down time.

I put some blame on Travis for not canceling or at least kicking eveyone out and start admittance over after so many people broke through security.

But the crowd bares a lot of blame.

thats why no pill or line is worth doing these days. the chances of an overdose are astronomical. wanna get faded just smoke a bowl or drink some booze.

A buddy of mine who kind of follows this stuff says that supposedly one cartel tainted another rival cartel's supply, and all of these people dying are just collateral damage.

Sounds crazy but another buddy of mine has a friend who lost his wife after she took a Xanax cut with fentanyl. And supposedly that is how Jordan Shipley's bro just died. I would be spreading the word on this to anyone you can, even if you think they'd never use street drugs. You never know.

It can be in everything right now, from knockoff Adderall to cocaine.

Exactly. You couldn't pay me enough to do street drugs right now. Not that I would in the first place, but the added risk of death makes it completely insane to wade in to those waters.

Pretty much lines up with this account that a friend posted on IG. I think initially there was some smoke that people were collapsing from OD, but I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people were fainting from the panic. If you are in any way claustrophobic, this is about as much of a nightmare scenario as you can imagine. It is strange though that an officer was I hefted with something in the neck and had to be revived. When I heard that in the presser yesterday, I was shocked.

They were saying on Rogan that a lot of recent celebrity deaths are attributed to this.

They claimed this what killed Tom Petty. Got some sort of pill from a roadie that was laced with fentanyl.

[did not say whether the roadie was named Bart]

Huh? Because the wife of a friend of a friend took a street Xanax and died? Or because another friend follows border/cartel stuff? Not sure I follow.

That is up to the city and county regulators to order and the promoter to execute. The performer isn't watching the plan being blown in real time. In fact, I don't want Travis Scott or if at a country festival someone like Luke Bryan making such a decision. It is really far beyond their singing and entertaining pay grade.

Lol, so cartels are knowingly producing insane amounts of fentanyl and cutting their drugs with it. Not sure how that's any better. And seems like a horrible short lived business model to sell people deadly Xanax pills. Are their bosses signing off on this?

Surely you don't deny that common street drugs are being cut with this stuff and resulting in an increase in OD's right?

I will concede that the rival cartel stuff seems out there. But what is the difference if cocaine and knockoff Xanax and Adderall is killing people because it's tainted with this dangerous stuff?

Agreed. Plus, Travis Scott is a horrible person. You don't want him making any decisions beyond music/lyrics. He's a complete self worshiping psycho.

Cartels may not be cutting their own drugs at all. Once it's in the hands of local dealers they are probably cutting it to stretch out their product. Fentanyl is cheap and unfortunately a little goes a long way. Would be interesting to see how many times coke in Houston is cut before end user. Would almost make sense to legalize it all and regulate it so if you want drugs at least you are getting clean drugs. Of course cartels would still pump drugs into the market but you at least have an option for stuff that has been verified clean and not cut.

I'm not saying he should be the one in charge of those decisions but he ultimatly is the one that decides to perform, unless he's a robot or slave.

The dude has encouraged and cheered on his fans jumping security before. He is the one that encourages this crap.

Cousin used to follow him before he got big and I believe has met him and he told me years ago that he is not only a complete fake (a weird nerd named Jacques Webster), he's a diva who freaks out on staff/DJ's/sound people over the slightest little flaws and generally treats people like sh**.

I guess you usually kind of have to be a self-worshiping narcissistic a-hole to get to where he is, unless it's more organically, through the streets like many other hometown rappers. I don't think he's very admired by the local guys who stayed real and put in 1,000 times the time and grind, to just make "lawyer/doctor money", while this weird little punk kid is worth tens of millions and baby daddy with a Jenner girl worth nearly a billion.

I actually like some of his music and will acknowledge that he's probably a creative genius.

Fair point, maybe it's mostly gang bangers at the local level doing the cutting, who are just loose or distant business affiliates. But Mexican cartels are in fact producing INSANE amounts of fentanyl. There is no refuting that, it's a fact.

I highly doubt though that the local mexican mafia or Crip gangs are actually pressing hundreds of thousands of fake Xanax and Adderall and opiate pills here in Texas though when it would make much more sense for those to be mass produced in Mexico and imported that way.

Cocaine, yeah, it gets cut and then cut some more obviously. But a lot of the deaths we've heard about are coming from pills. Hard to believe those are being made here.

Heroin has largely disappeared from much of the country….replaced by a powerful synthetic anesthetic - fentanyl. This is much stronger, much deadlier.

Fentanyl is so cheap to produce that drug dealers sprinkle it into other drugs they sell, including cocaine and methamphetamine. And fentanyl does make those drugs more euphoric. But this is quite addictive. Someone can become a fentanyl addict without even knowing it. Who are the biggest pushers? Cartels. Where? Sales are NOT focused on the big cities, where cops have sophisticated equipment.

It's obviously all over the big cities, but cartels have concentrated on suburban / rural areas.

This is a major plague. Book: Sam Quinones, The Least of Us

I don't care how rich Travis Scott is, he is a wannabe poser who couldn't hack it in the hood so he moved to Mo City like a little b tch.

It's like a local retelling of Don't Be Menace to South Central… or Next Friday but not as funny as either.

There are definitely demonic or "occult" undertones present in the performance and advertising. I am not saying there are demonic forces at play, but it's the vibe/image they are trying to go for imo.
