No mention of Surfside Sally's? It had a legit 3 month run.
The old Muldoons in the shopping center was one of my favorite places. I played many games of chess there smoking cigars and watching the old salesmen try to pickle their liver.
Also, the Houston Brewery. Spent many a night in there before my 21st.

I had one of those but it was Royal Palace on I-10 & Mercury in Jacinto City. More roast beef than Arby's up in there.88jrt06 said:

I had never heard of it until I started hanging out with a particular group of people and after that it was our favorite bar. Had never sweated so much in my life as I did in there some nights.
Great drunken half memories at the Velvet Elvis
Pearl Bar. Had a lot of great times there in my 20s. Plus, there was a 50% chance every time you went there that you would bump into Shane Battier.

I completely forgot about The Catacombs....Back when folks actually went to Market Square. Had great potential to develop into a great area like other cities have in downtown but , for whatever reason, died out in the 80's.88jrt06 said:

You need to try Market Square again. Usually busy with Nico Nicos on the square and bars and restaurants nearby.

Don't know about favorite bar, but some of the bests memories I can recall, IYKWIM, are from $1 any-drink-in-the-house on Wednesday nights at the Longhorn.
Remember coming out of my coma on Thursday mornings and trying to figure out how I dropped $80 or more at $1 drink night.
