Dallas ISD said they'd open then put out another statement saying they're reevaluating that decision.

Family friend I know in Plano ISD said she wouldn't be surprised if this goes until Friday.

Was just told 90% chance for Allen, McKinney, Frisco, Prosper, Celina ISDs to be closed tomorrow from a pretty reliable source. They are supposed to be waiting until 6:00p to decide but apparently its a foregone conclusion barring some drastic change.

Just checked Rockwall ISD, no word yet. My guess is they are evaluating how much impact the above freezing temps have. Looks like very little where I am.

I can't even clear my sidewalk without an enormous commitment of energy I am unwilling to offer. Went at it for about 5 minutes and happily surrendered. Hopefully a few more hours of +32 will get things on the right track.

Re-freeze will absolutely be an issue. No sun or wind is a problem.

I think most districts will make a call by 5pm? (someone told me that). They want to see how much (if any) thaw we get before sun down.

I'm in NE Tarrant County and really surprised at how little the ice has melted away. What has melted in the streets is going to turn into the slickest ice we've probably seen the last four days. Not looking good for tomorrow morning.

Highways should be mostly fine, but ya side streets and lower traffic areas might be rough.

Probably be relatively good untill you get to your neighborhood. I always travel back roads and get off IH45 as soon as possible. That strategy would probaly be ill-advised in current conditions.

Prince of Peace Christian up in Carrollton just announced they're closed tomorrow. They usually follow Plano ISD, so I anticipate we will see that come through as well.

Roads are still terrible. Took me about 90 minutes driving safely to go from Ponder to Hwy114 and back. Usually takes about 30 minutes.

MCA is closed again. Kids convinced me to take a trek to Andy's to get them ice cream and test the roads. Took 4x4 to leave the neighborhood. Preston was still frozen in places but had ruts and slush.

Here too. Husband just threatened the youngest that if she keeps it up, she'll be out shoveling the driveway.....we have a really long driveway.

Parker Co to west Fort Worth, main roads were pretty fine. Some idiot on 20 in the middle lane going 40 with his hazards on. Zero snow, concrete mostly dry, 41 degrees. My neighborhood and feeder road are still 98% covered in snow/ice

That was 75 on my way home. Roads nearly 90% clear and there is a genius going 35 in the middle of the highway with hazards.

Maybe it's just me but those people don't annoy me at all. They're in the middle lane so as not to interfere with people merging or going faster in the left lane. These are unusual traffic conditions and people are being cautious. I'd rather that than the hardos in the Honda civics with the spoilers who think they're in a fast and furious movie.

People don't monitor this thread 24/7 and don't know what the next mile is like until they get to it.

It's the idiots passing the cautious drivers that are causing accidents, not the cautious drivers.

If I hadn't given up flipping the bird I would've done it a couple of times on the 20 frontage road. But I gave that up a few years ago.

Yep, if you are driving cautiously, that is 100% fine. What causes the worst accidents are the overconfident drivers because the surface seems ok, then bam, they hit a bad patch and they lose it.

One thing you also have to keep in mind is that while you may have been driving a lot and have a good feel for the consistency of the conditions, some of these people may just be venturing out for the first time and figuring out the conditions. Which naturally someone who isn't a moron will start out more cautiously

Just don't drive with your hazards on.

Drove from mid-cities to downtown FW a little before noon and then back in the 4:00 hour. Roads were wet (both times) but otherwise fine. I'm downright shocked at how little drying out the roads did. I know it was overcast most of the day but I can't believe how much water was still on the roads in the afternoon.
