Just like in the electricity threads, these bills are meaningless without usage. I wonder how much water rates vary across Texas, or even the metroplex.

It definitely has a brown spot about the size of bath towel. But the rest of the lawn is very healthy.

My next door neighbor uses that True Green service. Holy cow that stuff works well; have no idea what it is because I've never checked into it but they did a service about a week and a half before we got all the rain and within a few days his lawn looked like it was freaking March or April. Incredible looking.

Depending on your grass, sometimes those services are worth it. generally, the nicer the Bermuda, the better they can make it.

I have St. Augustine, and all you do with it is water and give high nitrogen fertilizer every two months and it takes over the world.

Anybody get anything yet? We got super lucky last night- a cell formed over us around 10p and dumped 2'' of rain in just over an hour.

Nothing in Plano. The thunder was rumbling pretty good around 11pm. I was so confident we were going to get rain that I got out of bed to turn off the sprinklers set to run in the morning.

In Lewisville, just south of the lake I got 0.25" between 10 and midnight. Another sprinkling (< 0.10") so far this morning.

I went ahead and turned my sprinkler system back on for running tomorrow morning. This should tempt the rain gods to pour down on me.

Decent rain this evening in Plano. Ballpark guess from pool is 1/4 to 1/2 range. I should get a rain gauge…

I've seen trees like this live. But need to treat it quickly.

Looks like the splinters weren't that deep but also hard to tell from picture.

That said, cool pic on how lightning creates such a clean strip like that.

That's gonna need a lot of prune sealant. Dudes finger is going to get tired.

Yep.

We are about to lose one of three 60 year old pecans in our front yard from a lightning strike in 2013. The previous owners (my grandparents who planted each of the trees) had a tree company seal it, but wear on the seal, the harsh winter snap of 2021, and the heat/drought this year somehow got to it. The same tree company is saying we need to take it down before next spring or risk it falling into our house/bedroom. Weird to see a tree dying from the middle of the upper half, slowly spreading outward and downward.

We have a 150 yo pecan tree in our front yard. I always get nervous in lightning storms as it towers above everything else. That thing coming down would mean a new house if it feel right.
