How the **** are we not having storms? I didn't pick to live in Houston.
We've had a few weeks of "wow it feels like it's gonna rain" without it actually raining that day. Weirdest weather I can remember.

All I got to say after today is that summer is pretty much here.

I started running out side to save my plants and little trees. Forgot about the kids outdoor playtable umbrella. Was grabbing it and thought I was about to be Mary Poppins out of Celina heading south

It just kept coming. I think 3 or 4 different waves last night. That hail wave wasn't fun. Nothing too big but there was a decent amount of it.
There was a lake in my backyard. Downspouts were overflowing because my drainage pipes couldn't handle the sheer volume of water. Gushing up at the street at the exit drains.

There is someone about 1/4 of a mile from us that has a ridiculously pimped out weather station and his own website that is live updated with all of the data. I always just use him as a proxy for what happened at my place. I think both of his kids are in college now pursuing degrees in meteorology. These people are major weather junkies, and i appreciate benefitting from their effort
Far North Dallas, except it feels more like another dimension. We see giant storms roll in all the time and they pummel everything north of us, but we rarely get 1/4 inch of rain or more than a few gusts of wind.
Well, we did get those tornadoes that played hopscotch across our neighborhoods from Irving through Richardson, but everything else usually gets walled off by the invisible forcefield of Dallas proper.

The urban heat island micro climate effect is real.
Yeah, we call it the Addison heat dome. Seems to take the steam out of storm lines for far north dallas and Richardson. I play a lot of golf at Sherrill Park, and we oftentimes see ominous stuff coming from the west weaken big-time once it hits that heat dome around the tollway. So we'll play or keep playing assuming it will lessen or miss us entirely. Doesn't always, but has many many times
