Some sort of frozen precip here in Plano this AM with thunder. More than I was expecting at this point. Not sure if sleet or rain. Will get out to look around in a bit. So far nothing on schools…
Wet on the way to dfw, bridges were a little slick around 121/635, if that's all the rain until this afternoon it should dry up if there's any sun today.

Drove through McKinney & Frisco this morning on way to work. Roads seems OK for most part but saw several cars that spun out and wrecked on bridges.
Drove from southern Plano to Downtown Garland area via surface streets (mostly in Richardson). Roads weren't bad for the most part, but a few smaller bridges were hairy.
Yeah 75S is shutdown in Allen at Stacy. Jack knifed semi.
Hit freezing rain on the way into work today driving from Denton to Prosper area. Had a nice sheet of ice on my car.
Non-highway travel wasn't bad at all. Hopefully the precip will stop shortly so the drive home isn't bad. But will probably leave at 3 or so.

Tollway northbound from Keller Springs to Headquarters was ice-free and moving at 60mph this morning. Noticed that the service road overpass at Headquarters was a solid sheet of ice when I drove by though. Watching the mayhem on there in real time from my office right now. There's a car just sitting there with its hazards on and folks turning left are getting jammed up trying to maneuver around it.

Just got the email from daycare that they will be closing early (3PM). They haven't said anythin but assume they will be closed the rest of the week as well.

Anyone not worry about wrapping their pipes for this round? Internet says you don't need to wrap exterior pipes until outside temperature get to 20F or below sustained. We won't get close to that today and today is the coldest of this round. My outdoor pipes are hooked up to drip irrigation and timers so it's a pain to disconnect/reconnect every mild freeze. I did it for the last ones where we stayed below freezing for consecutive days.

Much worse that I expected it to be in Tarrant County this morning. 35 south was a sh**show, after an almost 2-hour commute to the Aledo area from Keller, I arrived to see a four truck, fifth wheel smash fest and now I-20 east bound is closed. Also a few 18 wheelers off in the ditches on 20.

How is the tollway doing since I'm supposed to head north to Frisco from Dallas this afternoon?
The thunderstorms were a little unexpected this morning but knowing it was 24 out figured it would be a **** show out there quickly. Now that the drizzle mist has started Its only downhill from here on.
I have bibs covered with those hard faucet covers but honestly not 100% sure how much it really benefits....seems like its either not cold enough to matter or if it gets to that point where you need to do something, they don't do quite enough 
Nearly busted my ass at work just now walking to my truck. Even the damn grass has a coating of ice. The afternoon drive is going to suck today
Just went from Lake Highlands to Coit/Campbell and back, including on the highways, and it was all fine. Not even slick.

I worked from home today. Wasnt even going to try to go in and end up sitting on road because of accidents. Supposed to be worse tomorrow, but who knows

The fact all kids had off on Monday and at least PISD (others too?) had teacher workday Tuesday....I am not sure there was a snow or ice storm big enough to keep most parents from sending kids at least today.
I am anticipating cancellations for tomorrow and likely Friday....
