Taverna in Sundance Square closing, joins Bird Cafe and the Cantina Laredo there.
Also noted that the Stirr closing in West 7th is permanent, can't imagine how much money was lost on that deal with the buildout of the location and then being open less than a year.

Our family is sad about taverna closing. Great brunch spot. Hopefully they will reopen at another location once covid dies down

Not really a restaurant, but Dallas Comedy House has closed. Loved that place. Took a class in stand up there and saw many great local comics. Really going to miss DCH

I'm actually sort of surprised how few have closed down. I mean in the covid world "excess mortality" is thrown around a lot and what seems to be happening here is just normal churn.
I kind of feel this way too, because every place I go to for takeout is empty (except Chick-fil-A; they are unstoppable).
From everything I've heard from my bankruptcy attorney buddy, the **** really isn't going to hit the fan until Q4.
The low interest loans are helping but also landlords being flexible with rent payments. It's sometimes cleaner to delay a good clients rents than kick them out and take a chance on a new renter especially in the face of an oncoming recession.
I think its the landlords and mortgage holders that will be pressuring renters by year end and rubber will hit the road in 1Q21.

My wife said that Mckinleys in Fort Worth University shopping center is gone. I think its more of landlord issues. They've been know to be difficult.
They are going to try and move to a more affordable spot. That shopping center way too high end not to be able to seat at full capacity.

I've only been a couple times but my wife and friends have been there numerous times. Definitely a favorite spot for the yuppy moms. My wife said that the tanglewood moms site almost blew up.

I remember going to the Arlington location with my parents as a kid for the first time (I think it opened before Fort Worth) and I absolutely loved it. Haven't been in 20+ yrs
Gung Ho on Lower Greenville had a "for lease" sign on it as of last weekend.

I think that location has turned over 3 times in the last 7-8 years. Seems like there is a just a constant churn happening on Lowest Greenville
