Baptists sell land to owner stating they cannot sell alcohol. Place is built underground to not violate the agreement and to sell alcohol.

edit - not a favorite place of mine, but a cool place for an anniversary or what not.
Did not know about the land deal, but it kind of made for a cool atmosphere. That being said, I am surprised it lasted as long as it did; not the best location regardless and never seemed to be busy back in my days of working downtown.

I like Start for a relatively low-guilt quick lunch. That location was always paaainfully slow in the drive through. Hopefully the Lemmon Ave location survives.

Very unfortunate, they had great food and drinks. Big investors from California with other concepts so pulling the plug was a simple matter of risk. They made good money and used this situation to break their lease. Will happen often around DFW.

Perfect Union Pizza is "reconcepting".

Both owned by Badovinus. His other restaurants are opening this week and next.

Damn Off-site is fire and Perfect Union is very good. PU makes sense with the rent and likely low booze sales with pizza. Change it up to a more booze friendly concept and rake in $$$.

Feel like they just expanded way too much. I enjoyed going to the origial Deep Ellum location but the experience was never the same at the other locations i went to.

Agreed, the other locations reminded me of going into a Freebirds in Dallas. Growing up in CS and knowing what the original felt like, the other locations were always sterile.

Shame. Neve been there. Little out of the way for me but heard good things.

I went out this weekend and the couple restaurants I went to were way down from the previous weeks. That will make some people stand-up and say "hooray" as it will slow the spread but we are crushing small business owners...

I know some people are just jackasses and do cheer, but I think a lot of people do seem to willfully ignore the plight of the small businesses in all of this. Maybe because it's an out of sight out of mind thing, but they don't ever want to include them in the mask discussion.
