That date isn't formally announced and obviously still subject to construction completion. There is a lot to do, but they're moving fast now.

Well this sucks. We were there about a month ago and they seemed to be doing well. They had a bottle of pinot noir for sale that we haven't found anywhere but direct from the winery in Sonoma, so we were excited to go back. I guess we will have to go this weekend.

We went about a month ago and they had mentioned the recent renovations. Food was fantastic and the rabbit ragu is still on the menu - after a ton of deliberation I ended up trying it and have been dreaming about it since!

I believe it is a lease issue, plus the guys seem to be more focused on their RE careers than running restaurants at this point. Hillside Tavern is very successful I think. I'm surprised Boulevardier is still around but maybe they have a really great lease there, or maybe Bishop Arts is thriving more than I realize - I don't go down there too often.

Thunderbird Station closed

Birdie's Eastside is about to open, pretty sure they have done some friends and family nights already? Looked like it the other night but not sure.

Bar Collette is a new cocktail bar in the West Village associated with Namo.

Henry's Majestic reopened in its new location - old one at McKinney & Monticello is demolished. New location is out by Trinity Groves.

Leela's Wine Bar reopened on Lowest Greenville

Lots of new omakase has opened in Dallas

Veritas Wine Room is really actually closing this time, in a couple weeks (last guided wine tasting is next week I believe)

Voodoo Doughnut opened a Dallas location on Lowest Greenville.


Hate to see that. We were day 1 patrons when they opened. Best wine bar I've ever been to still. And did many a popup dinner there.

Went to a Birdies pre-opening dinner this weekend and it is awesome! More restaurant/less bar than I expected, and all the food our group tried was awesome. Biggest winners were birria sliders, loaded fries, patty melt, and chicken tikka wrap. All entrees, even the steak, were under $30 which is nice.

The adult only bar is cool, but somewhat small, although it's got great visibility to the patio so you can keep an eye on your kids can run around and it's an indoor/outdoor bar counter if your outside with them.

This place is going to be a huge hit

Anyone have any reviews they would like to share for Hurtado? I have never been but they are opening a new location in Dallas. They are moving into the permanent restaurant space at the Dallas Farmers Market

I really like Hurtado, I haven't been to the original but I live pretty close to the Fort Worth location. They have great ribs and tacos.

Is Hurtado the ones in Rangers stadium with the tacos? If so, those are pretty damn good.

It's not Dallas proper, but anyone had vaqueros bbq? One is opening up in the watters creek shopping center in Allen. Menu looks good. Apparently they have been in grapevine.

Ribs, brisket and their birria tacos are really good. Not a fan of their sausage

East Dallas neighborhood bar closes after 4 years of pandemic woes

BarNone in (Old) Lake Highlands. Timing wasn't great with opening right before lockdown, and they were a little pricey for a neighborhood spot but the food was always good.

As an aside, El Vecino a few doors down is a great family Tex-Mex restaurant, if anyone is looking for something new & hasn't tried it yet (they've been open for several years).

Yep they are down to just Hillside Tavern. Hope it doesn't close for a long time cause we go for trivia every Tuesday and it's a great time

Sucks that BarNone is closing. One of the things that drives me crazy about the Dallas consumer is every local spot that offers actual real food gets labeled pricey and ultimately cant stay in business but the PE firm that owns a small group of local spots is packed as people love their mediocre food straight from the back of the Ben E Keith truck at lesser price point.

Good riddance to Bar None as far as I'm concerned. I've been three times over the last couple of years, once on purpose and twice because we didn't want to wait for El Vecino, and the food started out mediocre and got worse each visit. Last time we were there a few months ago El Vecino had an hour wait and there were three tables worth of people at Bar None.

We were not fans either. Each time we went, we just seemed to have an off experience. Some of that wait staff related, some atmosphere. It never seemed busy when we went there or were next door at El Vecino. Good location though, so looking forward to someone new taking over that spot.

I'm not sure Frisco can get a good restaurant. For some inexplicable reason the people here love to slobber over any locally owned restaurant, no matter how bland the food tastes.

There are several taco joints the Frisco women swoon totes amazeballs in ermagod mouth over that do not have 1 grain of salt in the entire kitchen. Crappy, bland, over priced food served in a restaurant with a bunch of LED lighting and Thievery Corp playing in the background.

There are a couple of decent places, but nothing that's opened in the last 5 years in Frisco proper is really worth a s***.

Sounds like any non ultra expensive place in Dallas. "But the salad with chicken is soooo good, and the appetizer straight from freezer is lights out!"

I haven't been to many places in frisco, but Heritage Table is really good. James Beard nominated Chef last year.

I have been to Plano's What's Cluckin' but it's not quite Mike's or Gus's

I have been to Plano's What's Cluckin' but it's not quite Mike's or Gus's
If you are comparing anything to Gus's good luck, that fried chicken is next to impossible to beat. It is in a category of its own. Babe's is good though.
