The lawsuit is lengthy, and they have the video in federal court CSPD needs to give answers

Did CSPD shoot at and/or kill anyone who didn't shoot at them first?
In my opinion, it the video shows that Hopkins fired the first shot, they will have a very difficult time winning this case.

From the City's statement:
Escobar had unfettered access and was repeatedly observed at the residence during the investigation.
I have never understood why, if they were surveilling the house and saw Escobar their repeatedly, why they didn't just grab him outside the residence and forego all that early morning crap.

Overall, I trust CSPD over any other city out there. But, hiding the video tells us everything we need to know. If it didn't show questionable actions, we would have already seen it.
Curious what the numbers are on this. I don't do this for a living, so I assume they do this because it works well. Seems like a good opportunity for somebody to not hear the announcement and then react to somebody coming in.Bunk Moreland said:
A pre dawn raid. FFS when will the police learn. We better get the body cam footage.
That was NOT a raid.legalbird said:
Raids are dangerous. Look at Fidelity street a few years ago. Somerville TX. Need a bad guy? Wait until they leave the house. Wait until the dude is eating his Egg McMuffin. Then arrest him. The stand-offs are too dangerous.
And it isn't as though home invasions like the one CSPD performed are not done by dangerous criminals. See this one that happened one month before CSPD broke into Hopkins' home.Hornbeck said:
Kid thought he was the victim of a home invasion, and grabbed a gun, like many of us would do.
We were home invaded when I was a kid in Los Angeles. It started off with a loud "Police! Search Warrant!" then they kicked the door in and robbed us at gunpoint. I got the gun shoved in my face for asking them not to take my catcher's mitt. 5 little kids and a mom (my dad was at work) home invaded and forever scarred.Brian Alg said:And it isn't as though home invasions like the one CSPD performed are not done by dangerous criminals.
