I think the hold-up is the landowner has not responded in quite some time, there are plenty of offers to help.

I don't see a hold up. Emkat is out of state and doesn't make the trip back that often but has said the land owner is welcome to anyone coming to dig around.

Sucks that they just cleaned the tank though.

Everytime this thread gets bumped I think it's been found. Still holding out hope.

Just read this entire thread for the first time. It's sad to think that things down there and could literally now just be laying on the surface! We had a guy lose his Aggie ring at our place when he jumped off our dock a few years ago. Back in early 2010 our dam broke out due to heavy flooding on our 3 acre pond. We saw this as an opportunity to search for the ring once the water was gone. Early 2011 came and we pumped out the remaining few hundred gallons to not only search for the ring but also to dig out the tank. My dad searched for about 6 hours with a decent metal detector and unfortunately turned up nothing other than fishing stuff. After that we had work done on our pond and what once was a three acre pond is now a 6 acre...so that rings still there....and I reckon it will always stay there.

Since it was bumped, why not ask if a TXARNG unit equipped with Minehound (metal detector combined with ground penetrating radar) would like to "train" in your stock tank for a small signature item? Surely there is an Aggie Engineer officer who would not mind taking on the challenge. Think of the cover story on the Texas Aggie.

Even if there were no water, and it was just dry land, the task would be very difficult. One of the problems being that there is probably a lot of metal in that dirt.
