When my "new" next door neighbor moved in he asked about the local wildlife. I mentioned that we have several coyotes around (true), but we've never had any issue around the area (also annoyingly true, they seem to be borderline buddies with the neighborhood cats). Anyway, without any prompting from me he build large, contained outdoor cat play area. He has two electronic activated doors, and his 2 cats will run back qnd forth outside, but inside this 6'x8' cage.

I have not *****ed and moaned or yelled at clouds in 3 days so....here goes. This whole thread is kinda ridiculous to me. I am of the mindset that f-ing people need to be doing things to encourage wildlife and perhaps attempt to be better stewards of the environment in which they are living. I know this is a lot to ask of the modern human who prefers not to live in the environment but own it and modify it to their tastes, only to then ***** and moan about floods and inconveniences that are a direct result of the modification and removal of other inconveniences. Either way its a huge gripe of mine. I love when people move out to the country or developing suburbs and then all of a sudden "EWWWW....mice...snakes...foxes....KILL THEM ALL!"

I see this guy in more people than I like. I'm getting old and realizing that I was probably born 100 years too late. :/



Look OP. Your cat is only at the top of the food chain in YOUR environment. You aren't in your environment. He is not at the top and he will be treated as such if you prefer to not use that big ol' brain on your head that is the result of tens of thousands of years of evolution to find solutions. It turns out that YOU are in fact on top of the food chain....act like it. Put your f-ing cat somewhere else or just go ahead and tell him goodbye now.

If you're intimating that local animal control and or ASPCA can help by finding a new home for the cat then you're correct. Parks & Wildlife won't relocate a fox to accommodate an outdoor, borderline feral cat.

I'm rooting for the fox too. The idea that we are going to spend time and effort to change behavior or eliminate a native animal in order to accommodate dying or end of life cat is absurd to me. It's borderline mental disorder.

It's so stupid I think we have all been trolled for 3 pages.
